true that dog was pretty much perfect as scoob its one thing for dogs like airbud to do well in a movie because thats the introduction to that character but with scooby we already know and love the character so its very tough for the average pooch to pull it off

You'd think that they're actually feeding him Scooby-Doo snacks, he's just so spot on. He looks sort of mid age I hope he comes back for the sequel or better hope they find a dog that's just as good at pulling off a scoob.

He wanted to target adults who watched Scooby as a kid. It would've been a sort of parody/love letter to the show. Velma was going to be a lesbian, Shaggy and Scoob were going to smoke weed on screen etc, but the studio wanted a kids movie.
That's why they have that 'Mary Jane? Like, that's my favorite name!' joke, among others.
