I think Love is a polarizing movie because it's very clearly about memory and as such heavily relies on the viewer having had some past intense physical relation that maintains a kind of permanent, lingering presence in their mind and body.

I watched this sober and I loved it
the way it shows the first trip at the start really lets even the most straight edge cunt be immersed in the character's trip. It only got pretentious once it finished their backstory but otherwise, for the first hour and a half, it was an awesome movie

Nothing but reporters lionizing themselves for uncovering what had been common knowledge for decades. The "Mark-Ruffalo-is-crying-and-conflicted" scene made me rage to an extent beyond what I thought was possible. Lady reporter also has to struggle with how her mom reacts to the news. Such tragedy.
The movie ends with these heroes enormous self-sacrifice; they all have to answer the phones. I though it was pretty telling that the scene, the one real chance in the movie to drive home the experience of the victims, removes their agency in favor of the newsteam.
