>>71740740
julia sawalha >>>> caroline quentin
>>71740884
It's really good. Plus there's a big feeling of satisfaction if you can predict how things were done before you get told.
Additional comfy murder based show.

>>71741373
Derek Jacobi plays a retired soldier turned monk who solves murders in 12th century England
>>71741492
Is that Danny John Jules?
Is that also the font for Father Ted as well?
We all know the correct response here lads.
>>71740740
First three seasons were awesome. And I loved Maddy's and Jonathan's friendship (or whatever they had).
>>71741494
Sounds ultracomfy, will watch.
>>71741533
Yes, it's Danny John-Jules.
Instead of subtle ethnic diversity in a european medieval setting they just straight up put a rastafarian in it. I like it.
>>71741492
and anything else with Tony Robinson
>>71740763
Fuck yeahhh. Bestest comfiest most timeless comedy ever from the BBCs golden age. Americans will never know
>>71741588
Baha dat file name.
>>It's a poriot has a miss aligned mustache episode
the darling buds of may is comfiest for me, but it's a very cheery family type programme so i wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't for everyone. it's based on books written in the 50s when rationing was still in place, so the original purpose was comfy escapism into a borderline utopian rural life with masses of food and no real worries. ultimate comfy formula
also every series of jeremy brett's sherlock holmes
>>71740740
Darling Buds of May.
By a motherfucking country mile...
How's this? I like the guy who plays Strange
>>71740884
Have you seen pic related? It's also a comfy rural crime show, though it's Australian
Plus the music in the show is amazing

I sometimes wonder, are British shows inherently comfy, or do I just find them comfy because I'm British.
>>71742120
It's really good. Kind of like a mixture of period drama and fantasy, but played straight like it should be. A couple of plot holes but nothing too serious.
>>71742169
When they say "return magic to England." is it real magic or parlor magic?
Why is the only good Jonathan Creek special the Grinning Man?
>>71740740
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123341/
>>71742210
Real magic. Basically real magic existed then died off in favour of science. The only magic people were doing at that point was basic tricks.
Watch the show, it explains things.
>>71742222
Jesus, that sounds great, why have I never heard of it
Any idea where it can be found these days?
>>71742242
Awesome, thanks
>>71742287
old
>>71742308
To be honest, I don't remember much about it other than having a bit of a crush on Jane Horrocks' character.
Any good British documentaries about history?
Perhaps something about the Empire?

Grenada sherlock holmes
Goodnight Sweetheart is a pretty comfy.
It's about a two-timing (kek) tv repairman from the 90's walking in and out of the 40's. So, time travel, romance/marital problems, fish out of water hijinx.
It's a sitcom, but oddly sober despite silly shit happening.
Why do old people like murders so much?
>>71743052
Cartoon Head was a lad.

>>71742764
Good? Yes. Comfy? No. I found it physically painful to watch at parts
>>71743402
I thought I was the only one that watched this. I can't even take Marco Polo seriously because I keep expecting Kublai Khan to ask if there's a thing such as skimmed milk
Was amazing in the 90s but got shit in the 2000s
>>71750105
Dat final episode though.
>>71742116
It's actually a New Zealand series m8
>>71742700
Moran and Bailey do some top-tier standup too.

perfect casting 10/10 comfy comedy
>>71750330
Moran is a bloody legend
>>71750330
Moran's first live dvd whatever was great. The second it was almost like he had a stroke, couldn't hold a train of thought at all, painful to watch

I don't remember this show, I just remember enjoying it. But thinking about it, it literally could not have been good, I just can't think of a way it could have been good.
>>71741494
that sounds right up my alley
the good life
The Sweeney is pretty comfortable
>giving and receiving bribes, fabricating evidence for the Queen
>interrogating/seducing bad guys' missuses
>cutting up rough when some lowlife starts giving you brass
>catching crims and locking them up generally
And this theme tune, I listen to this theme tune before I go out to get AMPED

Not the later series, obviously
Can any cunt post?
There was no greater pleasure, as an insomniac living in the pre-internet era, than stumbling on an episode of Weir's Way at 3am.
>>71753523
Along those lines, Wainright Walks with Julia Bradbury is pretty damned comfy.
>>71743983
PUT A SHREK IN IT
>>71746254
I love Peep Show but I wouldn't exactly call it comfy, it's awkward as fuck
