Ok, you start.

>>71718143
The way Mark Ruffalo talked was so distracting.
>>71718173
You think Spotlight deserved it over Fury Road? Fuck off
I literally fell asleep during Spotlight.
>>71718173
it's just a bad movie with a great story
>>71718079

NOOOO NO NO NO NO N NO
that was the one movie I didnt even understand how it could even been nominated for best picture

>>71718275
It's literally the opposite -- a good movie with a basic and already-done premise.
>>71718079

>>71718212
Why not fucking put the pictures with the names then?
>>71719163
>ha ha I almost had to face bla bla bla tough luck bud
>>71719293
almost had to face what? spotlight was a terrible film. pretty much all the movies nominated for best picture this last year were. but spotlight winning was laughable
>>71718173
I feel sorry for you Americans of you think spotlight was real filmmaking. Tbh it was just a decent tv movie about a subject that had been done better and to death literally 20 years ago by irish and British tv stations.
>>71719379
>spotlight was a terrible film.
Feel free to substantiate this, might ease the embarrassment from le underage "lol he posted from a mobile device not like us true nerds!" meme.
>>71719095
I'm of the mind it got best picture because of it's depiction of journalism before every news outlet became "x posted y on their twitter."
The subject of priests trying to find god inside little boys, with their penises has been done better, but most of the movie was how a bunch of journalists went from zero information to exposing rampant international sexual impropriety and the extent to which one of the most powerful organizations in the world went to cover all of it up was, to put it mildly, the shit.
>>71719209
Names are left to right in order of billing.
headshots are middle-out, in order of billing.
>>71719528
>Drinking the jew kool-aid
>>71719594
its kinda hilarious people are actually siding with child molesters because their opposition is jewish.
If I molested a bunch of jewish kids, would I have all of stormfront behind me?
>>71719627
>if
Why haven't you turned yourself in already?
>>71719579
That's stupid as all hell.
>>71718079
Much better than the Revenant imo
>>71719528
nah, I'm not gonna waste my time. If you liked it for some god awful reason more power to you, I just know I fucking hated it.
>>71719703
people read from left to right
people look at the center/middle of posters first.
>>71719764
feel free to elaborate. Its not like you have anything better to do.
>>71719764
>I'm not gonna waste my time.
>I'm just gonna go back to using my previous time lurking/shitposting on this Bhutanese glassblowing site
THIS STORY NEEDED SPOTLIGHT
>>71719715
Fuck yes. Hell of a film. The revenant was fine but beats of no nation wins hands down. Christ the scene where he shoots a woman being raped to put her out of her misery because she reminds him of his mother. ..just fuck
Patton is the only one i can think of. Fuck Hollywood, though.
>>71719863
thats right bitch, what are you gonna do about it
>>71719983
thats in my top 5 favorite ever
>>71720004
>>71719764
this is me. if this isn't explanation enough.
but whatever, my opinion on the movie is that the direction was awful, it had such a tone that it almost had no tone, it felt almost like an episode of CSI in some ways, I hated the characters because I felt the characters lacked personality, the "big reveals" were done so lifelessly I couldn't even believe they were supposed to be the big reveals, I didnt really care for the subject matter either but that was enhanced by the fact that every movie up for nomination was a marxist propaganda piece and you fucking know it, on top of it all I just hated how it looked and felt
>>71718173
>Me not thinking spotlight deserved it automatically means i like capeshit
It was a mediocre movie, the final product left a meh kind of feeling. The only thing that was good was the story. The Revenant deserved it more, which was a beautiful movie.
>>71718079
i don't even like catholics but this was:
DUDE
CATHOLICS R EVIL
LMAO
>>71718173
>spot the underaged who watches entry level films for the sole purpose of putting down plebs who watch capeshit, and calls people who simply watch better films, plebs who watch capeshit so that he can put them down.
>>71719715
oh man hell yeah... but the revenant its still a great movie, complete in each aspect
>>71720454
Catholic priests apparently recommended eachother the movie around the Vatican because they liked it so much.
>>71720154
oh shit i was talking about spotlight btw, not patton, for everyone asking why i didnt like it
>>71719715
Real best picture last year
>>71721192
Catholics on /tv/ are really sensitive and whiny, they should learn from their priests.
>The Revenant and Mad Max
>Both films that showed just how capable film could be into immersing us into magic, to take us into different worlds and enthrall us.
>Spotlight
>By-the-books storytelling, Lifetime drama tier.
>Spotlight is better
>>71721370
Lifetime drama tier, THATS what I thought when I saw it. GOD I FUCKING GET SO TRIGGERED BY SHIT FILMS, Im sorry but Spotlight winning is just a sign of bad things to come.
>>71718079
Doesn't /tv/ only hate this because it makes Catholics look bad?
That was the only thing people were complaining about after they announced it won.
Spotlight sucked. It's fine to make a straight procedural but the story from the journalists perspective is just not interesting at all. We all know it only won because of the Oscar bait subject matter. Nobody will rewatch or remember the film.
For me, BoNN or Embrace of the Serpent were the best films of last year. Mad Max or Revenant from the ones nominated for best picture.
>>71720154
Literally I'm jaded: the review

>It's a /tv/ unironically thinks the best picture oscar actually goes to the best picture episode
In the history of the oscars there are probably less than 10 best picture winners that actually deserved it.
The most recent one, in my opinion, is The Last Emperor.
>>71724207
He plays a conniving jew in the movie though
>>71724207
RAY DONOVAN IS A JEW?!??! GET DA FUCK OUT OF TOWN!!!!!!!!!!
>>71719543
Absolutely, it's a very grimy and melancholic subject matter, and the film did fuck-all to communicate it through its style. Every five minutes I had to remind myself that I wasn't watching a television film, albeit one with high production values, and that this was a multimillion dollar project which a group of critics and supposed experts believed was the movie most needed to be seen in 2015. It was boring (not slow, I'm all for slow films), and did little to keep the viewer emotionally invested. When they decided to very overtly tell me the admittedly shocking but well-circulated statistics on the subject, the film transformed from a narrative to an essay, appealing far too much to logos rather than pathos. Presumably, they thought that would make it immune to legitimate criticism lest you're labelled a heartless bigot, and they were apparently right. Spotlight didn't fight for its Oscar, it basically blackmailed the Academy for it.

Mad Max Fedora Road is literally a video game.
