Berserk is more akin to Witcher anyway. Since Witcher series started off as flashbacks while Geralt is injured and back to present. With further stories being the same idea.
Berserk switches between present, past, present, past and only now has it been constant present pretty much all the time bar going back once for a small story. Then the prototype of Berserk got released as well.
