I just used black people white people as an example of races not an example of a common definition of race. I'm saying the many biology classes I took never took such a simplistic view as "race is a social construct." I would have laughed in the professors face. Ethnic groups are determined by genetic similarities and all of my professors were very clear that there is significant variation among different groups. Although the two most genetically different humans are more similar than chimpanzees of different jungles.
