Why is Civil War bashed when T2 is praised to high heaven?

Both are just three expensive set pieces filled with bad cg held together by bad kid acting and cringy quips.

Funny

Somehow most DC threads are able to survive derail attempts just fine despite the tireless efforts of the Disney and Marvel Shills, the Evanposter and other assorted shitposters.

Maybe you Marvel drones just need to own up to the idea that your flicks are forgettable and disposable trash with nothing to say.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised by this. Both properties come from something marketed primarily to children. Both fanbases seem to have some misappropriated sense of superiority. Both must make constant threads to try and rationalize their fandom and convert others.

The reason there aren't any Civil War threads is because there is no need for them. The movie was seen, some liked it, some didn't. Nobody needs to defend themselves or rationalize whether they liked it or not. There are no hurt egos to mend.

And Superman's death was good?

What a fucking joke. Killing a character that you know will be back in the next movie, even hinting at it at the end of the movie.

Killing Superman was literally one of the more shallow, cheap things I have ever seen in a movie, and I'm not even a Marvel fan.

It stuns me to see people on /tv/ praise a movie that resorts to such cheap tactics like killing Superman and then some magical bullshit bringing him back in the next movie.

You literally have to have the mental capacity of a 8 year old to let that shit slide and be fine with it.

Here's a question for everyone. Why is it that BvS gets more discussion on America's Independence Day than, you know, Captain AMERICA?

I'll tell you why I think that is,but feel free to provide your own opinion.

I feel it's because while Marvel/Disney provides solid family entertainment, they do so by sidestepping anything that could ever be construed as inspirational or controversial, two things that often go hand-in-hand. If you attempt to inspire, you run the risk of polarizing and alienating a portion of your audience, especially when the themes being explored delve so deeply into not only what it means to be a hero, but what it means to have real moral courage, what it means to be a good human being.

These two films have made me take a long, hard look at myself and have inspired me to be a better person than I'd been allowing myself to become. For all the enjoyment I've gotten from the MCU, I can say that for none of their films.

And so it is, we pass the 4th having had zero discussion of that most patriotic of American superheroes, because after better than a dozen films, Captain America, while being portrayed with more integrity than any other MCU character, still falls well short of being an inspiring figure for me, just empty entertainment. If you agree, you can thank Disney for it.

The thing about Doomsday is that we have no real life equivalent. Uncanny valley pretty much doesn't even apply to him sine we can't even make a mental comparison when seeing it. Seeing the complete lack of believable physics and realism on perfectly normal things in the CW clip triggers all kinds of bullshit warnings though, because we see that stuff all the time.

looks perfectly believable to me. All he even did was weave the motorcycle and jump off it by squeezing the front brake, which really does flip the bike and send you flying over the front.

The only thing 'off' is that there is no such thing as a huge hovering dropship like that. And BTW that clip is not from Civil War
>>
>>71648973
I think the movements are fine but the CG on the ship and on the shield is really poor

It's still a lot less jarring to me than the effects on BvS. What pisses me off about Snyder is how he doesn't use special effects judiciously.

T2 has great tension and breakneck escape action, typical of Cameron. People yelled with excitement in theaters when Arnie thumpthumped T1000. Civil War had a giant Ant fighting a spider. Some people laughed and I saw four people on phones.

Maybe you are referring to TWS. The directors themselves said that the accords were going to be the side plot, i don't know why everybody was angry that it wasn't the central point.

Nobody panics when the expected movie get does well. Nobody panics when things go according to plan, even if the plans are horrifying. If I tell the press that tomorrow a Marvel flick will get 1 billion, or a Disney animated movie will blown up, nobody panics. But when I say one little old capeshit kino will bomb, everyone loses their minds! You introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos.

The worst you can say about Civil War is that it follows the Marvel formula.

>>
>>71652212
'no'

I'm one of the few people that sincerely liked BvS, and not one of the memers spouting "kino" and shit like that, but Civil War was better in every way. It had better acting, better direction, better writing, better themes, better set pieces, better effects, and better music. It was just better. Saying BvS was 'better' is like saying The Crow: City of Angels was better than the first--- nobody will take you seriously because you're so utterly, completely wrong. You'd have a better case saying Lost World is better than the first Jurassic Park.

>and not one of the memers spouting "kino" and shit like that
"Kino" isn't a meme, Snyder genuinely wants to try something different than the overused Marvel formula (which worked so far, but good God it's getting boring)
It's not Herzog-tier, sure, but it's still a more quality film than anything Marvel will ever produce.
>It had better acting, better direction, better writing
Debatable, the Russos are good directors no doubt, but the plot was a mess.
>better themes
The only "theme" in Civil War is that Tony is a hypocrite and Steve is a bitch, risking everything just to save his best friend/schizo assassin.
>better set pieces, better effects
No and no. And this is one of the things I won't tolerate. BVS had great cinematography and was stunning visually. You can hate it, you can dislike it, you can find it "meh" but you can't deny that BVS is a pleasure for the eyes. Ant-Man/Giant-Man transformation was the only remarkable visual effect in Civil War.
>and better music
BVS' score wasn't very memorable, yes, but MOS' was and that's enough for me. And Civil War's soundtrack was also pretty forgettable. I don't even remeber one single track that wasn't used in other films.

>It's not Herzog-tier, sure, but it's still a more quality film than anything Marvel will ever produce.
Trying and failing is NOT more admirable than playing it safe and succeeding. At the end of the day, one is a FAILURE and the other is a success. BvS was a failure. Snyder was ambitious, sure, but he FAILED at what he set out to do. Sorry, but he did, and everyone knows it.
>>
>>71653466
I'm not denying that it was a commercial and box office failure. And I'm sure WB will stop him from continuing his vision now that there's too much at stake.
But as a viewer, as a cinephile, I'm glad that at least someone is going against the grain of petty capeshit. Man of Steel (sorry, I had to bring it up) and Batman V Superman will forever be two timeless gems of a pretty forgettable era of the cinematic industry.
>>
>>71653604
Man of Steel is already forgotten. BvS is a laughing stock. Outside of /tv/, nobody talks about it. They banned discussion of it on superherohype because of how awful it was.
