My grandfather grew up in a dirt-poor rural southern state and lived on the "bad" side of town a block away from darkieville. Also being from a musician family, they all spent a LOT of time around blacks. He served with them in the 50s in the military. They were his equals, among his childhood and early adult friends and fellow servicemembers. He didn't have a racist bone in his body.
Today's blacks he doesn't understand at all and has more than a general dislike for them, as a group, and I can't blame him. Jim Crow and Civil Rights ended (rightfully so) but blacks came out the other side of it worse for wear for a myriad of reasons, none of them because of oppression by the "white devil".

Does Canada even break down it's crime by race or is that not allowed? I think Canada's left pretty much outlawed the gathering of stats related to race with crime. So I don't think you can say that without backing it up with some stats.
