Years from now which movie will be remembered more?
>>
None of them.
>>
people stopped talking about civil war a week after it released
>>

BvS, due to controversy

civil war is too bland
>>
>>71540046

Is it really surprising that the least popular movie should be a figure of controversy?
>>
people will remember BvS for how they were let down by it
>>
Both are already forgotten and only talked among the plebeians of /co/ that wish they were /tv/ posters
>>
>>71540040
This. BvS is only getting talked more because of the controversy around Warner and the extended edition. It will be forgotten by the end of this year or only get talked by comic book fans.
>>
Years from now, /tv/ will go back to praising Spider-Man 2 as the God of all capeshit films because it was a genuinely good stand alone movie.

This "Extended Cinematic Universes" fad will fade away and no one will bother talking about them outside of remember the Shitpost Wars of 2029.
>>
>>71540007
What's the movie on the right?
>>
>>71540188
Captain America: Civil War. It is in the title.

>By the end of this weekend, Finding Dory will bump BvS out of the top 5 highest grossing movies of 2016
>Disney will have 4 movies in the Top 5

BvS has a chance of at least remaining in the top 10, right?

Deadpool is the only capeflick of 2016 that will be remembered.
>>
>>71541360
Deadpool is a reddit flick that will be forgotten within 2 years when all its references are dated and everyone realizes the story is complete shit.
>>
>>71540007
hopefully, this >>71540040

but most probably BvS will be x100 more popular, just due to the iconic characters, not for being a particularly good or bad movie.
>>
>>71541585

For Civil War I guess it depends on how infinity war and phase 3 as a whole turns out. And if marvel gets Fantastic four back for phase 4.
>>
BvS.
Easy.
>>
Imagine being a Marvel fanboy that has to sit and watch Civil War after seeing the Ultimate Edition of Batman V Superman and having to be all like "damn, Civil War, you fuckin' great, all awesome with your terrible dialogue and nonstop inappropriate quips. I’m totally enjoying watching you, both my pretend 4chan self and the real me." when all he really wants to do is watch BvS again. Like seriously imagine having to be a Marvel man-child and not only sit in that fart-filled chair while Robert Downey Jr’s head floats on top of his straight to TV-tier armour like some otherworldly spectre, the favorable lighting barely concealing his wrinkles and orange leathery skin, and just sit there, minute after minute, hour after hour, checking your phone and hoping it’s almost over. Not only having to tolerate the lazy plot, but the laughable CGI as you sit there and say DC BTFO and DAMN, SPIDER-MAN LOOKS LIKE *THAT*?? because DC fans aren’t the ones who have to sit there and pretend to be invested in nonsensical fights between people that have no intention of hurting one another, where there are no stakes and no one to root for. You've been watching movies with half this budget that have infinitely more impressive visual effects and none of the hacky writing for your ENTIRE LIFE. You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the faecal matter that’s been spoon fed to you as Marvel executives sit there, smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to watch the most moronic, lazy, half-assed attempt at a superhero movie since Howard the Duck. And then you check your phone again, and you know you could kill every single person in this room before the movie ends and you’re forced to sit through the after credits scene, but you sit there and endure, because you're fucking dug in and stubborn and embarrassed as fuck. You're not going to lose to DC fans. Just bear it. Hide your face and bear it.

Isnt this only domestic?
>>
>>71540007
BvS will be remembered for decades. Like how Scarface got bad reviews when initially released yet is still one of the most popular movies of all today.
>>
CW is guaranteed some Oscar nominations. It won't win any, but it'll be nominated. By every single possible metric, it's a more successful and better film. Rotten Tomatoes, user scores, IMDB, Metacritic, box office (both domestic and foreign)...there's not a single metric in favor of BvS.

So, Civil War.
>>
CW will be remembered like The Avengers.
BvS will be remembered like Catwoman.
>>
BvS, but for how terrible it was.
>>
>>71540042
People only keep talking about BvS because Autists and WB paid shills keep making threads and pretending it's good.

Like anything else matters

Marvel flicks are like a cheap, generic chocolate bar that tastes more like sugar than chocolate. You sort of enjoy it at first, but after about halfway through it, all you can think is "this is too sweet". But you keep eating it because you've already committed to it and you don't wanna leave one bite left that you know you'll never finish.

A day or two later, you forgot you ever ate it and never give it a second thought again.

Anyone still talking about the merits of Iron Man 3? Anyone have "Age of Ultron" viewing parties? Nope. You saw it, you felt mildly entertained, then you never watched it again. Because it was the cinematic equivalent of empty calories.
>>
>>71542268
My friends don't have Spider-Man 2 viewing parties either, and that's the best comic movie ever made.

Ahem.

>>71540040
>>71540135

Except with Batman and Superman there's plenty of discussion to be had for years. Nobody will ever talk about Civil War. Ever.

Meanwhile everyone will revisit and discuss BvS once Justice League comes out.

Face it plebs, your honeymoon is over. Nobody likes Marvel shit. It's literally for children.
>>
>>71540042
Because when a movie is good, there isn't much to discuss. When something is as awful as BvS it requires fanboys constantly defending it and trying to find the few good things about it.
>>
>>71541360
HAHAHA yeah right. A movie made for edgy 12 year olds is going to be remembered?
>>
>>71542514
Authentically it might end up being their best, but I doubt it since even the space scenes in guardians were television/whatever that weird look all their movies have
>>
>>71542636

>#1 film domestic and worldwide of 2016
>Higher opening weekend than BvS
>Praise from critics and general audiences

/tv/'s shit posting doesn't represent the rest of the world little anon
>>
>>71542699
Dubs speak the truth. Nobody talks about Jurassic Park, but people still discuss Lost World because it's a mess.
>>
>watch ultimate cut
>love it
>hear that the sequel may go in a lighter mood
gutted. I liked the movie the way it was, in terms of superhero films it is one of the best in years since it tries something

please tell me it will keep the same tone
>>
>>71542770
I just hate that they made Supes basically as dark and broody as Bats. The v in Batman v. Superman would have been so much more impactful if they had similar agendas via differing, almost opposite methods.
>>
>>71542770
Most of the criticism it got was for the cringeworthy epic grimdark tone, if they somehow haven't scrapped this Superman run after two abominable disappointments then the next one will be lighter, simpler, and with more quips
>>
batman v superman because it was one of the shittest movies in recent memory.
>>
>>71542764
No one talks about because there's nothing to talk about.

"Jurassic Park?"

"Great movie."

"Yup."

End of conversation.
