They looked like they were in the heart of the "red forest" though. Who knows how that shit works? It's a bit of a copout, but they've been surprisingly good about not outright contradicting their time travel logic. There's always a new qualifier whenever they move the goalposts.

I wish I could find a comprehensive chart of all the the points in time they visited and what they did and see if it all makes some kind of sense. It seems like they're making the story up as they go along, which is pretty risky when you're dealing with time travel.

The whole reason they introduced paradox's was so they could just make shit up and it didn't need to make sense. The first season was good in that it had identifiable goals and a real cause and effect. Season 2 is just paradox of the week to stop the magical time storm.
