Find a flaw

Don't fly so close to the monster?
>>71534838
Too much caffeine
>>71534838
The completely forgettable cast of characters minus Lizzy Caplan and T.J. Miller.
>>71534838
One of the best disaster films ever made
>>71534838
It made 100 other movies use shaky found footage.
>>71534838
it has a strong conservative backbone
Don't you mean APOLOGIZE?
>>71534838
The video wasn't shot in 60fps.
>>71534838
found footage
Just finished watching this. It was kind of intriguing but holy shit what a retarded ending.
>decide to go the "ayy it was aliums all along lmao" route
>doesn't even have the aliens from Cloverfield
What the fuck were they thinking?
Did they seriously take a random sci-fi/drama indie movie and slap the name Cloverfield on it to rake in more money? I can't believe they released this in Imax.
>>71536799
>a random sci-fi/drama indie movie
Kid you don't have any idea...
>>71536851
Please explain. I'm lost.
>>71536863
Search the image in Google then come back.
viral marketing was fucking insane. Nothing since has come close to it.
>>71536799
>doesn't even have the aliens from Cloverfield
>aliens
>Cloverfield
What movie did you watch?
>Did they seriously take a random sci-fi/drama indie movie and slap the name Cloverfield on it to rake in more money?
Yes, and it worked. Not like it matters anyway since the Cloverfield franchise is now confirmed to be anthologies loosely tied together
>>71534838
CLOVERFIELD vs THE BEHEMOTH
>>71536799
yes it was literally another movie called the cellar.
>>71537052
I haven't seen Cloverfield in quite a few years and I can't remember the monster's origin, but if the movie seriously implied that it wasn't of extra-terrestrial origin than it's a retarded piece of shit I'll never watch again, and subsequently this whole thread is retarded shit for praising it.
>>71537052
>>71536799
Someone isn't doing his homework
>>71537121
Sorry bud but the monster is a species that's laid dormant for thousands of years and was awakened by the ChimpanzIII satellite crashing into the ocean as seen at the end of the movie. It's only a baby but due to Seabed Nectar (the main ingredient of Slusho and the monsters main food source) it and the parasites that inhabited it have grown exponentially.
>>71537141
That image is from the 10 Cloverfield Lane ARG and has almost nothing to do with the first Cloverfield aside from Company names. Even then they are confirmed to be in different universes
>>71537276
Different universes same multiverse. Finally someone that has done it homework on /tv/!
>>71537393
I was super into both ARGs so my autism sensors goes off whenever there is a Cloverfield thread on /tv/.
>Movie where Clover fights off aliens when?
>>71534838
This was a great monster movie because for 90% of the movie, they never show the monster.
The end of Cloverfield sucks because they show the stupid shitty monster and I'm reminded that none of it is real and it's a stupid CGI turd.
In the best monster movies, they never show the monster. It's what's so spooky about Paranormal Activity.
>>71537596
Shut up, you fucking child
>>71535209
No that was Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity's fault. Cloverfield wasn't really influential in the genre.
>>71537495
I'm also into both ARGs but I find it funny how much the last movie has more in common with HL than the previous Cloverfield movie.
I don't see Clove saving the Earth from aliens like Godzilla do but it they eventually do something like that they better explain a good reason for it.
I couldn't relate to the characters
>>71537645
not an argument
>>71537652
Well JJ is making a Half Life and Portal movie.
>JJ Abrams somehow convinces Valve to make Cloverfield canon
>>71537694
You don't need to. You suppose to relate to the monster. Like The Thing.
>>71537737
>Like The Thing.
How was The Thing relatable? Also the only relatable thing about the Cloverfield Monster was that it thrashed around like the confused toddler it was
>>71537726
Well JJ says that he has big plans for the Cloverse and the suppose next Cloverfield movie is set in space with a Large Hadron Collider. That will explain a lot in 10 Cloverfield Lane not so much CLOVERFIELD.
>>71537726
He did get the Super 8 level into Portal 2, and DannyTRS (director of 10 CL) did that Portal short film.
>>71537841
Just like a baby right
>>71537866
You forgot her name is MiCHELLe
>>71537866
>He did get the Super 8 level into Portal 2
Hol' up what?
>Little bit of research
What the fuck.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_9feTVWk_Y
This is awesome. Does anyone know why or how this was made aside from marketing? Cool nonetheless.
>>71538136
part of the arg, golden potato, etc.
>>71538158
There was an ARG about Super 8? Well guess it's time for me to catch up
>dat hazmat suit
>dat zombies reference
>dat barrel full of green acid
>dat combine gunship
>dat houndeye
>dat Mercy Hospital Emergency Call
>dat Portal storm at the end of the movie
The only thing missing was a headcrab and a crowbar.
>>71534838
found footage featuring lots of screaming idiots. on the plus side, it wasn't as painful as blair witch
>>71534838
Nobody had enough charisma to give a shit about.
WHY IS IT SO FUCKING SHORT
I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKE IT
IT'S NOT EVEN 90 MINUTES LONG
>>71534838
Shaky cam bullshit. Ruined the movie, imo.
>>71540458
>found footage
>whines about the cam movement
I bet you didn't like the picture quality either.
>>71540732
>I bet you didn't like the picture quality either
found footage is trash by definition so that wasn't a problem
