But GRRM's narratives aren't pro or anti anything. They're as anti-war as much as they are pro-rape.
The books do nothing but show that every action has a consequence. That's it. It's the multi faceted ways in which the books show this that make them so good. For me? I liked Jamie's chapters and Theon's. The rest, I don't really care. There are people that read it for the plot, because they want to understand not only how things will finish but the psychology and goals of certain characters, like they'd probably want to finish a puzzle that left them interested. Just because you and many others like mindless entertainment, which the show is for most of the time, doesn't mean that everyone does.
