When i started to read Asoiaf, i thought it was really cool because it was fantasy-ish but without the shit ton of magical elements that are in fantasy in general.
Most magical elements were only tales and legends, mostly not true, save for the others and their zombies and obviously dragons.
I was ok with Melissandre and her shadow baby but even it was pretty squetchy, but in the latter books, with all these prophecies, dreams and such, i really think George went too far with the magical stuff.
I would have liked Euron to be a really bluffy but competent guy, who knows how to sail and has explored a lot of stuff, but also talks a lot of bullshit, like his dragonbinding horn, or his valyrian steel armour.
