Difference is Bran comes off as a real kid being put in the position of Lord. For most of the hearing he's zoning out and only half paying attention, he's clearly bored off his crippled ass. He snaps when the old guy touches a nerve. Everything about him comes across as authentically childlike. Bearloli, conversely, comes off as a cartoon. The whole scene is played for laughs. Season 1 was a glorified soap opera. The exposition was clunky and the acting was pretty garbage all around. The pacing was painstakingly slow. Dany and Jon had no agency, all the best characters besides them didn't get any focus until after this season.

The Ironborn will defect if she doesn't get rid of Euron. He's accomplished everything that he promised, and he'll also allow reaving unlike Daenarys. I doubt any Iron Islanders except Theon are cucked enough to keep following Yara unless they have a personal grudge against Euron.
It's also just plot convenience. If she attacks KL right away then she would win and it would all be over. By attacking Oldtown, we get another season of KL before Cersei's climax, plus Daenarys's army of 200,000 gets shafted in half. It will come as a surprise since everyone expects Daenarys to keep steamrolling without consequences for her mistakes.

Nah dude, anyone who's taken a high school english class knows what agency is. Agency is what makes character's interesting, it's their wants and needs, their motivations. Drama by definition is the conflicting agency of two characters, it's why so many people like Game of Thrones in the first place. But when two of the main characters on the show don't have any motivation and are just dicking around in night school or getting dicked in the dessert, it's inherently uninteresting to watch. Not to mention those are 2 of the only 4 storylines in season 1 so it's even more excruciating.
