yeah, its set up in victorian era. this is before science came along to assist in investigations, so most of it is deduction based, which makes it interesting

I love Inspector Morse but I was pretty certain this wouldn't work as a show in its own right beyond the one-off pilot episode.
I'm glad I was wrong. The sixties setting, the music, this feels almost like the original Morse thanks to the great casting, certainly moreso than Lewis which basically turned to shit after season 7. I'm very happy as it's scratching an itch I didn't know I still had.
