The White Walkers can only reproduce by transforming humans. They had some agreement with Northerners where they would take bastards and unwanted children. 200 years ago a queen ended this practice, breaking the terms of the peace treaty and beginning the war. It has nothing directly to do with Craster as that other anon is implying. None of this will come up in the show.

I'm going to start with the two easy ones.
Arya has been followed up enough seasons. She had a "good enough arc" as far as the beginning and middle are concerned. She can be "down-graded" to a side-character that comes up every now and then, ending up in King's Landing where she decides to let someone else kill Cercei. She is so pathetic at this point that Arya doesn't even give a shit about killing her no more.
Varys identity culminates in just one scene. As before, he doesn't need much screen time.
Most of the characters have already had their shit wrapped up pretty nicely. They work as good side characters when the main players start doing their thing. It's not rocket science.
