Why? Aside from some good scenes and being more grounded, it's a slog. Afterlife and Retribution throw plot and characters out the window for action set pieces, and that's why they're so enjoyable. It's the one thing Anderson is semi-decent at.

Extinction is strongest film in a traditional sense.
