sadly I don't find the original all that great anymore, especially compared to Rosemary's Baby and The Shining. The only parts I've ever found frightening were

>crabwalk scene
>father karras' mothers' ghost

I can see why you would say that. I think that it's on par with the original. I was blown away that a horror sequel could defy my expectations so much. If it had been trimmed about 15 minutes of fat, I think it could have arguably been better than the first.
