Forced perspective alters all your shots - it's a wonder the Hobbits in TLOTR are as a good as they are - incredible amounts of work went into planning the scene and building props, but it could have easily;y been fucked up and definitely restricted their creative direction.
CGI is sloppy as fuck and drowns out the action/splendour to the point ti becomes monotonous.
JAWS is still watchable today because instead of a giant CGI shark, time is given to build up the suspense and the practical effects still feel real.
TLOTR looks incredible, and always will, due to an insane focus on props and practical effects - meanwhile the Hobbit films, made ten years later are a bland CGI mess.
Large actors, with voices done in post are the only reasonable way to do the Aen Elle.

One of the things that I was always wondering about was how the hell Wiedźmin 3 became such a big success outside of Poland. Graphics are decent, main story is great, likable characters yet all those other little things that make the whole picture so beautiful. They must have a flimsy makeshift of experience compared to mine I thought. Later I realised many things are just translated completly different for non polish audience. Like that troll who sings "trolololo" instead of a song that our obligatory military service soldiers sang: "come mom, vist my Military Oath" - shit it's even hard to tranlslate the name of the song. They just used a cheap meme reference that most would understand and find funny. There are so many things lost in translation and those little things are just simply made different for outsiders. For me it's such a great game and an unique experience mostly because it was written in my language, no more pretending and imitating. It feels so special because it's really rare for polish players to have our own game. Normally we're just fed western culture and many things are hard to relate. This game has things that strike this unusual chord in my soul that nothing made by foreigners will ever accomplish. Things I saw as a child, places, names, stories, myths and legends. Usualy games that I played had stuff that I could only imagine to understand fully, cultural and language barriers are sometimes so big you have to use compromises or parallels and metaphors that mean completly different things. CDPR did a really good job if they changed things yet the game still felt great for english players. They will never have full potential from the Witcher though, close but not all of it without being born and raised in Poland.

As a german-raised son of polish parents I gotta say, that you're right on spot: There's so much cultural inflection that simply gets lost in translation. Polish is a very emotional language, with a lot of either poetic or even humourous connotations.

But to be serious, I would love to understand the cultural significance behind the stories and be able to play the game/read the source material in its original form.
I've read a couple of the novels and there are moments where you can feel the fantastic prose and imagery that would have existed in the original text, but a lot of other segments of the book are disjointed at best.

I find the whole world of The Witcher so depressing, especially Witchers themselves.
We never see them at their apex. By the time Geralt is doing witcher things most of the schools have been destroyed and witchers are so rare they are almost legend.
