Just noticed how nonsense this line is. That conversation happened before Gandalf went to Minas Tirith and found out that Bilbo's ring was the One ring. So how did he knew it was called precious before? If he already suspected it was The ring, why didn't he just threw it in the fire right then to confirm it?

Yes.
Hollywood is cognitively incapable of portraying Lex Luthor even remotely closely to the comics. Though to be fair I suppose Hackman was close to the silver-age era Luthor. But Spacey and Eisenberg's portrayals were fucking pathetic; big shame since all of these actors ARE excellent and could have done the role justice (no pun intended) under the right screenwriters.
