Except those movies weren't bloated from the theatrical cut, you could literally tell that important things were cut out from the start.
BvS was fat and soft from the beginning. Maybe they did actually remove important character moments in the theatrical cut, but maybe back in the script stage someone could have told Snyder and Terrio that the Lois Lane subplot was useless and the Doomsday was garbage made solely to give the heroes a big dumb monster to fight.
If the movie actually ended with the Batman/Superman fight and Supes dies in some other way, I could almost respect Snyder's balls in making a movie so strange. But the Doomsday section removes any possibility of that, it was the single most empty and meaningless fight since the mech bullshit in the third Matrix movie.

It's impossible to care. It's a creature you have no connection to with no actual goals, you may as well have had them fight a Kyptonite-powered bear at the end.
Lex in a mech suit would have actually had been better then fucking Doomsday. At least then it would be someone the audience could have an emotional connection to and maybe we could have possibly given a shit about whether or not the heroes stop him.

Still a 6/10 from me after having watched the UE. Extra scenes are great, but there's still the pointless and forced fight between Batman and Superman, the shoe-horned in Doomsday, and the needless death of Superman. Also too soon to start having Justice League discussions.

I really would like to give the Ultimate cut a chance, I downloaded it and it's sitting on my hard drive right now, but I don't know if I can bring myself to watch it. Watching the theatrical cut was a chore to sit through at two and a half hours and this one is three. Should I do it? Is there anything that makes it worthwhile?
