I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I thought I would.
It was ok, I had fun aswell. It wasnt Star Wars though.
Solid 7/10 adventure flick. Will watch sequels but not be overly excited. Did not live up to (unreasonable) expectations placed on it by demanding fans and was badly lacking in original ideas.

also finn was shown almost getting killed by a storm trooper so he is in fact worse than a storm trooper at melee.
and ray has no excuse she literally has no training and shes the best force user to ever exist, even anakin took years to become a half decent jedi whereas it took her all of 3 days to be a brilliant swordsman and force user

Reminder that The Force Awakes is an underrated masterpiece made by the creator of Lost, J.J Abrams. Reminder that the parallels between the A New Hope and this movie were intentional, because it's an story about how the past affect the present. It triggers manchildren because the movie made them realize that old good times are gone, showing the fates of all their loved characters after the OT ended.
It also parallels with the real world in general:
>The oppresed jews from the OT → The powerful jew empire sending military teams to squash rebellions in TFA.
>The strong, intelligent, space nazis from the OT → The weak, contrarian and rebellious neonazis in TFA.
While it's not perfect, it's certainly smarter than what the Lucashills think it is.

I see the biggest problem with TFA as being the adults who went in expecting something intellectually coherent instead of something that was just aimed at kids. I am sure all those kids who saw the movie didn't give a shit about the plot devices and holes. Adults are far more critical obviously and it had a lot of hype to live up to. Unfortunately it just shows the JJ didn't have a fucking clue how to address the adult viewers and just went with the 'nostalgia' shit and repeating previous themes in the hope that it would make something that appealed to everyone. It had some of the old Star Wars feel to it but that was not enough to make it a 'good' movie despite it's box office performance.
It could have been a solid 8/10 if they had changed just a few things. We didn't need another death star. We didn't need another overpowered Mary Sue. We didn't need Kylo Ren being an edgy teen. We didn't need silly CGI monsters in Solo's cargo ship.
It belittles us and plays us for fools.
The writing was sloppy and it could have played out in so many better ways. But it was all about the dollaroos in the end.
I highly doubt Lucasfilm under it's original banner would have done any better though.
