I just finished this show and now I have serious post-series depression. It had the realistic police procedural stuff from The Wire, a cool noir atmosphere, and had a solid plot that lasted the whole season so intricate crimes don't get magically solved in 40 minutes like ncis. It was also somewhat realistic. I can't stand the cartoonish gun fights in every episode you see in other cop shows.

Also, South Land was a pretty good cop show. It got cancelled then came back(mostly because people are faggots that can't enjoy something unless it's upbeat drama where the bad people go to jail and life is all happy and shit).

If you are feeling up for it. There is a hard to find show called Sex and Violence that has a pretty good depiction of real life. I started watching it because there is a lot of nudity, but it turned out to be pretty good.
