Why's this show so comfy?

because it makes you feel smart.

but it's really kind of dumb. if you give any ep a watch over, you'll realize Sherlock magically arrives at the right conclusions, it's not properly thought out detective thinking at all.

This is basically how the books are though. Sherlock goes on and on about "deduction" without ever acknowledging that he mostly reaches his conclusions via induction instead.

That said, the show is really painful to watch if you're a fan of the books, there's basically only 4 watchable episodes.

I like Sherlock, but I have two issues.

The gay jokes. Okay, they were funny the first couple of times, but there has to be, like, three gay jokes per episode.

I mean, come on. That's not how I imagine Moriarty. I liked how he was portrayed in the RDJ version. Plus, the idea of a genius math professor who moonlights as a criminal mastermind is pretty interesting, some some random, slimy-looking young guy.
