You've done it now you fucking degenerates. Your full blown autism is what's to blame for this.

>The filmmaker says he continued to love BvS in the aftermath, when people drew up petitions asking Warner Bros. to boot him from the follow-up Justice League (in theaters Nov. 17, 2017) — even as Snyder was in pre-production. “That part was a little bit distracting,” he says, calling from London after a day of filming.

>Hardest to deal with was the perception that he wasn’t being “true to canon” and didn’t adore these characters. “That was upsetting and made me evaluate myself and where I was with the movies and what I wanted to say with them."

>http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2016/06/21/zack-snyder-batman-v-superman-exclusive-interview/86138530/?AID=10709313&PID=6149513&SID=ipqa1xfq8x00ag8y00dth

Look at what you've done. He was one of the few remaining commercial auteurs. Authentic and aesthetic filmmaker. And your 'sperging and dimwitted understanding of film has failed him. Now he will fall to Quipcore.

the two aren't mutually exclusive

JL was always supposed to be lighter. This is factually indisputable, and there are interviews on record proving this.

However this could also mean that lighter for Zack was still too dark considering the complaints, and he is looking to add more levity than before.

Its a fucking ruse you idiot

They'll throw in some quips. Some goofs, some laughs. They'll pander to these "journalists" that ran all the hitpieces about the movie as well as their normie cronies that parrot them. They'll satisfy the Cult of Rotten Tomatoes thats existence is honestly an affront to the art of filmmaking

But at the end of the day nothing's changed. They're simply less upfront about the nature of their deconstruction and the thematic weight of what they are doing. Snyder is still creating kino, he just stopped bragging about it

Zack Snyder is my idol. I've loved him since Dawn of the Dead, but it was 300 that cemented his place in cinema history. When Watchmen came out I had my first orgasm in the theater, it was such a powerful experience that I felt enlightened. There is no god, only Snyder. Here to deliver us from average capeshit and bring us into a world of true arthouse cinema masterpieces. I bought at least 10 tickets for the Owls of Ga'Hoole, a truly underrated gem that trumps any Pixar piece of shit any day. Then Sucker Punch came out, a truly deep film that touches on themes of purity and mental illness. This is when plebs started their anti-Snyder brigade and brainwashed the masses into hating this revolutionary filmmaker. Disney in particular were scared because they knew if he ever went back to capeshit, they were done. So they sabotaged him and paid off every reviewer to trash Snyder's sterling reputation. It sickens me. Man of Steel was the best superhero movie before BvS, and it got blasted by so-called "critics" who were paid off by Disney and their evil cronies, trying to keep the common man Snyder down because his movies have heart. It simply isn't fucking fair. BvS is his magnum opus and nobody takes me seriously when I say I've seen it over 50 times in the theater.

There's a difference between Hope and Salvation.

Salvation is just Superman being there to save your ass when the need comes.

Hope, is Superman being there to not only pick you up when you fall, but help you get better, to stand on your own. The idea that things will be better, and not that things will simply get solved.

His Superman saves people and goes away. He doesn't talk to them, he doesn't inspire them.

Anything inspiring about him, comes entirely from what the people want to make him out to be.
HE isn't an inspiration. He's just a crutch. And that's not what Superman is about.

He doesn't understand Wonder Woman for sure. With Superman I can see how he likes him but just expresses it like a retarded child. the guy that makes these threads is secretly an extremely ass-blasted DC fanboy. Take note: I said fanboy, not fan.

Fanboy faggots like this sit around all day obsessing over "muh <hero>" like they're the only person on the planet that understands the characters and has a say, no a God-given right, to dictate the direction they're taken in by the people who actually do this shit for a living. It lets them cower inside the delusions of all the things they *could* do if given "the chance." With fanboy faggots it's always about those "chances," because by deluding themselves into believing these chances originate from anywhere besides them getting off their fat, complacent asses and applying themselves, it's not their fault that they're just gutless losers spouting bile and vitriol behind the veil of anonymity a site like this provides for them.

This guy's deep in the closet with his fanboy faggotry, because this just goes so far beyond what a person who just wasn't a fan of the IPs could muster. If I were solely a Marvel fan, I doubt I could muster much beyond casual indifference for DC's properties. No, this undiscovered country of asspain can only come from someone who feels deeply betrayed, and is such an entitled little fuck about it that this whole board must tolerate daily infusions of his impotent, puerile rage.

I think Zack Snyder has just a severe problem conveying emotion on a visual level. He is the anti-spielberg so to speak. His characters never go beyond being superficial caricatures and fail to engage you beyond their displayed deeds.

Did I cry when Supes got pierced by Doomsday? No, because this Supes has barely any introspective dialogue that doesnt consist of entry level philosophy quotes which are hamfisted into the story.

I cried like a bitch when goku or vegeta got killed in dbz because their was a certain buildup to that and you could connect with them.

Snyder just should have focused more on superman in the animated series, how he acted. Plenty of people would have engaged with that compared to brooding doc manhattan 2.0 - space jesus

>>
>>71134962
It's just how he directs films, the characters don't necessarily emote nearly as much as other films, but Snyder emphasizes the visual aspect of their emotion to make things compelling, there's a lot of effort put into making a scene visceral through sound and the general design of a scene rather than largely leaning on the writing or acting to send this message to the viewer.

Could you showcase that on a certain scene you liked? His procedure as you described can work very well. For example I was actually very amazed at the Metropolis destruction scene at the beginning, where Wayne felt like an ant in a storm of thunder, but this can also backfire, when he lacks restraint or self control and let's performances like Eisenberg Lex slide and hits you over the head with imagery that you got in the first place and makes it feel stale and obnoxious almost, not only to me but to many others.

I get that he is no Tarkovskij when it comes to visual storytelling, but he ruins many scenes by drowning them in spectacle or symbolism he tries to convey, which makes him almost as bad as Michael Bay at his worst.

I still think he has it in him, but he needs to exercise restraint a bit more.
>>
>>71135211
I think he doesn't care that much for character depth and is more interested in making a scene look "cool", I also think that he relies too much on post production effects that make action sequences look like animations rather than live action, but what I find worse is his movie making structure, I just can't enjoy it, it seems like all he wants to have in his movies are action scenes so everything else feels rushed and poorly developed.
But this is just my opinion and how I feel about the majority of his movies.

I agree. He seems to forego many establishing shots, not only here but in many other of his movies, which makes scenes feel disconnected and confusing and seems to be willing to overstuff a movie with action set pieces and effects as long as the movie looks "more rad".

There's a lot of effort but the result is still laughable. Snyder hasn't made a decent capeshit movie to this day.

I mean, fffs, he fucked up Watchmen.

He looks like that Jay guy from RLM.

I just accidentally backspaced and lost my post, but this scene I feel shows Snyder's strengths as a director

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSjI7gwuKtg

On paper it's nothing special, nothing complex, but the execution makes it compelling. The direction has you feel the burden and the struggle to remain strong in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. Snyder has a great ability to have you empathize with a character even if the context of the scene isn't particularly complex.

Obviously it fails at times too, like in the tornado scene.

That scene looks like a music video, to some people it's appealing to others it feels disconnected from narrative, I think the problem is the lack of balance between story telling and action scenes.
>>
>>71136310
Well MoS was more about putting us in the shoes of Clark, and I feel that scene is emblematic of that, the story as a whole in the movie is sparse so as to take a backseat to the journey of Clark slowly becoming an icon of humanity and a symbol of absolute determination

For me it looks like he has framing issues. The way clark flew threw that scene was kind of strange and felt off. Like I don't know why he picked that framing/angle. Talking about his closeup where he comes from the left corner.

Maybe he was abused as a child. Or maybe his parents didn't give him enough physical contact and he longs for it now. Or maybe there's no meaning behind this. Maybe he's just like that. Or he's fucking gay.

I did not like the Dawn of the Dead remake very much and anyone who thinks it's better than the original should be sterilized.

Still haven't watched 300 because it makes me feel sick.

The only movie I kinda liked was Watchmen and even with that something seemed off about it.

Everything else has been complete shit.

Maybe I'm happy I waited after all.

>Dawn of the Dead remake
It is not in any way better than the original, It's watchable as degenerated Zombie movie, it was very popular because it was the first big budget zombie movie.

Watchmen was Snyder jerking it to Doc Manhattan (it's his favourite character because he's the strongest), and even though he basically he made a copy paste of the comic to cinema, he didn't get what it was all about, the story went over his head.

Top kek.
Zack Snyder is a great director and all his movies are visually compelling.
But he really should steer the fuck away from the writers' room.

I guess you can't relate to anyone but Lex Luthor and Batman.

Oh snyder didn't get superman wrong. He got human right. What the fugg do you think will happen if Superman was real? Half the people would freak the fuck out and try to kill him. The other half would worship him like a god. This is exactly what the movie shows.

Also superman here is just a rookie trying to figure out his role in the world that rejects him. No doubt he's a bit sad and confused.

>Authentic and aesthetic filmmaker.

LMFAO
he doesn't know how to work a script
he heavily relies on his DP and VFX studios to frame "his" shots
he said himself he had to re-evaluate what he wanted to say with his movies. I would argue any decent filmmaker would do this introspection before working on a production of this magnitude, not after release.

This guy has no clear grasp on the superhero material, he has the vocabulary of a 18 years old at 54, he's been surrounded with yes men, starting with his producer wife. He mistook archetypes for religious allegories. He completely ignored who the target audience for superheroes are with BvS.

Yeah quite the auteur. He's a glorified DP at best. On a good day.

agreed to all these. If Mr and Mrs. Snyder cant see what they've done wrong with that, and keep thinking 'hurr ppl dont like deconstruction' they will keep falling.

How does this make it a bad film?
>>
>>71139774
Superman's most victorious battle isnt against muscular enemy, its always when he won people's heart. BvS isnt the first story about what if Superman was real. Its been done again and again in the comic books but his portrayal in BvS is the worst you could;ve done to the character.
>>
>>71139977
it doesn't, what it does is making it a financial calamity for the studio and investors. Bad business is bad business. Snyder already has a majestic flop in his resume with Sucker Punch. If Justice League fails I guarantee Warner will drop the Snyders, despite the supposedly very "good" movies he's been releasing for DC/WB.
Studios dont care about good or bad movies. They care about the business it makes them. Snyder has not really been a money making director since 300 and it's large return on investment. ROI on MOS BvS has been much lower than expected.

>its always when he won people's heart

This is exactly how BvS ends. Batman is *us* in the movie. At the end of MoS, humans (lot of them) hated him. At the end of BvS, Superman wins us over with his brave sacrifice. I actually felt bad when he died.

>but his portrayal in BvS is the worst you could;ve done to the character

Can you give me more specifics? (I am not trying to debate.)
