In all seriousness though, the power of belief may not be all that far off. The three times we see or read about a person resurrecting another, it's at a time of true desperation, when everything else about that person has been broken down and all that remains is a kind of primal faith.
It happened to Thoros when Beric died, it happened to Beric to revive Cat, and it happened to Mel when she brought back Jon.
I'm most likely reading too much into it, but when Jon's Resurrection inevitably happens in the books it will be interesting to see how it is written, if it emphasizes that Mel is trusting everything to faith or not.

Her purpose is to kill him. Either she succeeds or she fails and gets killed in the process. I'd be willing to bet she succeeds AND she dies doing so.
There is only one main character alive and still "themselves" at the end of the novels: Tyrion. Dany dies in Childbirth. Jon and Sansa kill each other over the right to rule the North (Catlyn's black blood being passed on to her kids is the reason Winter returned, but Jon has the Stark blood without the Hoare taint.)
At the end of the novels there is no Hoare descendant in Winterfell, but neither is there a Stark. The child Dany dies giving birth to is Jon's, so he's a valid Stark (magic doesn't care about bastardy or patrilineage) so there's hope he'll be able to drive back the Others in the future... a Dream of Spring (and our bittersweet ending)
