ITT: Best practical set designs, no green-screen
Stuff in Fury Road.
Blade Runner spinners and the city in general
>>71001198
lord of the rings stuff i reckon. such as hobbiton, minas tirith and the rest
>>71002274
Most of the sets and locations were heavily doctored with CGI.
Just google up Nolan productions
>>71002321
LOTR sets are amazing
>>71001235
event horizon had some good ideas
I remember reading somewhere that someone demanded that the floor be authentic, which really cut into the budget of the first movie but really helped WB in the long run as they never needed to replace it despite all the extras and scenes in the great hall

wrong pic
>>71003117
Too bad it falls flat in the end, what a letdown similar to Sunhines stupid sunkiller plot
>>71003370
love how the climax of the movie is just laurence fishburne punching
Can't get any better to be honest
Also that shot of the blimp going over the Bradbury Building is god tier
>>71003828
It's fine, shadows won't check in shadows.

>>71003828
Why do all the pillars project shadows except for the one being covered by Dindu and company?
Why do those guys have shadows OVER OTHER SHADOWS?
>>71004151
The will of the Force is as mysterious as it is enigmatic.
Starship Troopers

Do miniatures count as a set?
Fucking love Predator 2.
>>71002372
As far as I know, just the sky, night scenes, some debris and Furiosa's arm. Most are practical.
>>71003294
>>71003317
I remember that as well. I think it's in one of those bts videos.
>>71005315
Actually, even the desert scenes had CGI superimposed over it to make it more "desert-y". The only real practical sets were the interiors of the Citadel.
>>71003828
is that actually straight out of the movie? looks more like unfinished post-production.
>>71005429
Personally that doesn't really undermine the functional cars and the Citadel.
>>71006311
Almost all the car scenes were cgi, yes all the cars were built practically, but they were never actually driven.
>>71003117
>>71005138
Yes of course. I think the Space Jockey set was quite small and there were children in the space suits.
