When you're a spy, you'll eventually have to shit in a dumpster. You've got a few options. You could squat on the edge, but then you'll probably fall in. You could get right inside, but then you'll smell like shit AND garbage. What you want to do is use the corner like a toilet seat. Try to find something clean to sit on, like a piece of cardboard. And when it comes to wiping, just remember: There's a reason the Arabs consider the left hand to be unclean.

I never run around in the bushes in a ski mask when I'm breaking in someplace. Somebody catches you, what are you gonna say? You want to look like a legitimate visitor until the very last minute. If you can't look legit, confused works almost as well. Maybe you get a soda from the fridge, or a yogurt. If you get caught, you just look confused and apologize like crazy for taking the yogurt - nothing could be more innocent... Cracking an old-school safe is pretty tough, but modern hi-tech security makes it much easier. Thing is, nobody wipes off a fingerprint scanner after they use it. So what's left on the scanner nine times out of ten is the fingerprint.

Powerful people don't like being pushed around. You can never quite predict what they're going to do. Or have their washed-out special forces secuity guys do. Point is, blackmail is a little like owning a pit bull; it might protect you, or it might bite your hand off. That's why it pays to make sure you know what they're thinking, and that means - eavesdropping.

When you work solo, it's about prepping the ground. Home-court advantage counts for a lot. You never know what's going to happen. You prepare for everything... Most bad guys expect you to just sit there and wait for them, like those are the *rules* or something.
>>
>>70955235
In intelligence work, surveillance is called coverage. It's like basketball; you can run zone defense or man-to-man. Man-to-man is risky; follow someone too long and they're going to get suspicious. Zone is usually the way to go. Stay put and let targets come to you. Less obvious, easier on the feet... and you can catch up on your celebrity gossip.

One of the best episodes in my opinion is when Michael got caught up in a bank robbery and started sabotaging the robbers, shit was amazing.

Man in Red episodes were great too

Daniel Jackson would have been a better addition to the show than him.

Also holy fuck Tyler was probably the scariest antagonist the show ever had if only because he was as well trained if not moreso than Michael and could see past his bullshit.

But even that won't stop a wildcard like Larry
>>
>>70955888
Also Person of Interest, which is basically futuristic Burn Notice
& City Hunter Anime, which is Burn Notice without the conspiracy plot.

If you like strike back, watch the Ultimate Force.
>>
>>70953150
I wouldn't say I loved him but the actor/writers made a good job at implementing him without being redundant
>>
>>70951131

You know all those police procedurals? Pretty much the same appeal.

Every single episode is the same, but the problems and how they deal with them are always just that tiny bit different to hook enough people.

Also BASED campbell as others have mentioned.
>>
>>70953150

He was fine before he became part of the team.

When he was just some dude who fucked over Westen going to Westen for help it was an interesting twist and very tense. But yeah he just ended up as a surrogate for westen whenever he needed to be in two plotlines at the same time.
>>
>>70956143
>Every single episode is the same
Not even one
Considering I've seen the series 6 times
>>
>>70956192

From my viewing theres pretty much two types of episodes. Main episodes and Burn episodes.

Every main episode is a spy plotline, character or macguffin they need to retreive to help michael, plus a sam, fiona, or madeline friend / issue they need to work out. While doing something related to the first plotline he gets interrupted by the second, finds a link between the two or some other 'tension' ratcheting related to the b-plot. He then solves the b-plot, wraps up the a-plot and "when you're a spy" monologues over the end.

I'm sure there are more technical similarities but its been a while since i've seen it. It's straight procedural.
>>
>>70956269
>From my viewing theres pretty much two types of episodes. Main episodes and Burn episodes.

Those 2 types are in every single episode. His daily life involves handling both the issues at the same time.

Every episode in the series has distributed both his life as a spy & a vigilante evenly. Sometimes, the main end game episodes do focus on the plot, but even then they still aren't different as they'd be if they're handling a normal issue.

>He then solves the b-plot, wraps up the a-plot and "when you're a spy" monologues over the end.

That's the thing, he has an opinion for everything. He doesn't just do things.

You seem to generalize episodes based on the viewer's point of view as opposed to some character in the series itself, which basically regards your opinion irrelevant,
>>
the subplots are really shit

Chuck was a pretty wild ride, I went from laughing at how dumb it was to enjoying how dumb it was, to crying during the emotional parts of the last season.
>>
>>70953150
The show was still good for the first season where he showed up, it really started going bad after that though
>>
>>70956143

Police procedurals solve a slightly different problem in the same way every week.

Michael Westin solves wildly different problems every week in a completely different way every time.

Having a few formulaic elements doesn't make it a procedural.
