Since horror is a genre for children, post the movie that scared you the most when you were a kid

I was so traumatised by this movie that I had a phobia of being alone in a public shower/toilet.

>a genre for children
>most films are rated R
>>
>>70937946
Yeah, but kids will naturally ignore the rating and see them anyway. And if you're honestly scared of a movie as an adult, then you deserve to be killed.

The 50s War of the Worlds. I saw it when I was 7 and was terrified of aliens for years. I just was scared because they could be real. I used to watch those 90s ufo footage shows and scare the piss out of myself.

Still fear clowns like a little bitch because of this movie

As a kid, I hated the prospect of being scared, so I avoided most horror related things. I did try watching Ghost Ship, but after the beginning, I turned it off.

My mom rented Silent Night, Deadly Night on VHS for me when I was seven. A guy dresses like Santa and goes on a killing spree. Needless to say, it really fucked with my mind.

This movie fucked me up as well.
I was 8 or 9. The only reason i watched it was because i had a crush on my babysitter. Watching the movie was fine, it wasn't until i was going to bed it fucked me up.

See you in your dreams, HAHAHA

> I had a phobia of being alone in a public shower/toilet.

I had phobia of being at a public toilet, period. Wouldn't even consider going to a public shower. Why do you need the scary clown to be scared of that?
>>
I saw the exorcism of emily rose on tv, the movie itself is really confusing for a kid since there's also a whole trial going on etc and english was not my first language.

However all the demon parts were scary as fuck and especially the whole 3am is the time of the devil scared me shitless in rl, i was afraid of that time for like weeks.

I saw a movie when I was 5 that scared the shit out of me and I don't remember what it was called. There were boys sitting around the campfire telling stories, so it was a bunch of mini horror stories. One was some monster that killed kids in the school bathroom. And an old lady put her dog in the microwave and it (the dog) exploded. And something about a guy on a fair ride and a clown kills him. Don't remember much beyond that. Any ideas? It was from the early 90s. I'm really interested in finding it.

Paranormal activity was the first horror movie I had ever seen and It freaked me out. I was 12 years old but I couldn't sleep with the lights out for weeks. I was a pretty wimpy kid.

When I was seven or eight I caught a bit of some movie my parents were watching. No idea what it was called but the scene I saw had some kids get run over and later the three of them came back to haunt some other kid. Each one came out of a different door in the room the kid was in.

So for about three years after that I was terrified of sleeping in any room that had three doors. I'd always make sure to count them when I went to bed.

I was also pretty young when I first saw Pet Semetary. I've never been able to finish it past the scene where the kid gets hit by the truck. When his shoes go flying. I thought that when the truck hit him his feet broke off and were stuck in his shoes. For whatever reason that thought scared me the most. Ever since then whenever I see shoes lying on the side of the road/highway my face would get cold and I'd wonder if some poor guy had gotten hit by a truck and if his feet had gotten left behind to rot in his shoes. It didn't help that when I told my father about this fear he confirmed that those lost shoes are left behind from accidents, though I've never been sure if it was the truth or if he was fucking with me.

>Yeah, but kids will naturally ignore the rating and see them anyway.

Your logic is that pornography is for children because they ignore the age verification and look at it anyway.

Have a seat.
