I don't listen to many podcasts these days, but I used to listen to Film Sack (discussing a specific cheesy movie per episode) and Autopilot (discussing a specific TV show pilot per episode)

My favourite commentaries are RiffTrax (comedy audio tracks from the MST3K cast), mostly the sci-fi movie ones like X-Men, Star Trek and Star Wars.

As commentaries go, Resident Evil: Apocalypse is fantastically entertaining. As is Dog Soldiers, and the Severance commentary made me go from wanting Danny Dyer dead to seeing him as a genuinely funny guy who gets that he's a parody of himself and doesn't mind taking the piss out of himself.

Pretty standard, and depend mostly on the guests. I don't hear two thirds of them if I'm not interested in the movie.

The main rotation of podcasts I keep up to date with are:

The Last Podcast on the Left
The GiantBombcast/Beastcast
Film Junk
Sword and Scale
Cinema Swirl

Looking for more film podcasts. Just subbed to the Next Picture Show podcast will see how that is.

As far as commentaries go. The only reason I continued to buy the Simpsons box sets was the commentaries. Although at a point the commentaries which used to be gold, the best part of the set, morphed into the new generations of writers trying to justify their shittiness.

Are you referring to Ben Shapiro?

I've never heard him criticise white people as a race once, he's only defended white people against the progressive anti-white bullshit. Also, his shows don't last an hour. I doubt you've ever listened to one of his shows, or seen him destroy progressives during one of his campus speeches.

A sample:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r0ht583QoU

He shits on Trump a lot. Is that what you're referring to? If he's not alt-right then he must be anti-white? He shits on Hillary just as much. Unlike Trump, Shapiro's an actual conservative. Opposes transexuals in women's bathrooms (Trump doesn't), opposes abortion (Trump doesn't), opposes taxing the rich and spending on welfare (Trump is in favour of this).

Shapiro has all of the "political incorrectness" of Trump without any of the liberal beliefs and policies. If your best criticism is of the sound of his voice, his height, and his religious heritage then that speaks volumes about your political education.

They actually hated each other and were only doing the podcasts with the fans for the last few months.

Apparently Maddox went as far as to try and find a replacement in one episode but said dick was gone or something.

Cool. I've only seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show out of those. Downloaded that one and added it to my backlog. Downloading the film as well so I can watch it on my tablet in bed instead of messing around with VHS.

I dunno what kind of films you guys like but I'd suggest doing more popular stuff. I might check out Perks of Being a Wallflower or whatever it's called as well though, the film's on my list.

I'd love to have a commentary on one of the following as they're my personal faves:

The Good Girl
King of New York
The Warriors
Withnail & I
Monty Python's Life of Brian

Do any of these and it'll have at least one listener.

>Robinson is joined by author Tom Clancy, who proves to be a particularly tough critic. He begins the commentary by saying, "I'm Tom Clancy, the guy who wrote the book they ignored." It just gets harsher from there. Clancy is eager to point out every single instance in which Robinson made a technical mistake, which is often painfully funny. "Ha…those people would never say anything that pointless." "This scene is childish." "That thing you did there…that's total bulls—t."

>Robinson starts becoming so fearful of Clancy's criticisms that he becomes quick to try and point out any possible technical flaws in each scene before Clancy can beat him to it

recently found two podcasts i'm very interested in

http://projection-booth.blogspot.com/

The Projection Booth generally does film retrospectives, so what everyone does that right? well what i actually like about this one is that they actually reach out to people who write books on these films and directors, they also often edit in commentary/interview material. it's nice to hear more than two jack offs posturing what they did and didn't like about a film.

http://www.attaboyclarence.com/the-secret-history-of-hollywood-a-modern-guide-to-the-golden-age-of-hollywood/

Secret History of Hollywood is more documentary style than podcast, they have a 7 hour episode about classic Universal horror films and 15 hours on Hitchcock.

I gave Shapiro's radio show a listen for a few months before he left his Seattle radio show and went full shekelberger.
He decided to involve himself in a media hoax against Trump and his campaign manager with that awful woman making up an assault claim against Corey Lewandowski.
Shapiro may not be explicitly anti-white but being a NeverTrump fag is tacitly anti-white.
It was interesting to listen to his show all the same, to see the spin that a "conservative" jew puts on things.
For instance: He was talking about the nogs murdering each other at absurd rates in Chicago. He was saying things like
"It's Democrats that are largely responsible for gun crimes".
"There's a cultural problem within the black community"
While in a way that's true it's not the whole story of course. He's never going to approach things racially because it's not in jewish interests to do so and that's what has to be kept in mind when listening to any jew regarding anything really. They are incredibly focussed on what is in their group interests.
>>
>>70918671
I wasn't even on the Maddox hate wagon that much, I really want his show to be good and was ready to defend him if people were slating him even if his podcast was good. He really hasn't given me the fucking chance though, his new show is dreadful, just a full on echo chamber for his opinions with no decent foil to bounce off of. Dick hasn't found a good co-host yet either, and the first two episodes of his show have been far far worse than Biggest Problem and a bit all over the place but it at least shows some signs of life.

Will probably unsubscribe from Maddox's show within 3 weeks or so if it doesn't improve, can imagine myself staying subscribed to Dick, just being pretty disappointed that the better show is dead. Real shame at the end of the day, think Biggest Problem was my favourite regular piece of entertainment in any format over my entire life, lightning in a bottle sort of thing.

on the DVD of Orgazmo, Matt Stone and Trey Parker have a bunch of their friends and cast/crewmates over and play an Orgazmo drinking game.

There used to be a highligh reel on Youtube but I can't find it anymore

The period around episodes 40-70 were properly incredible, when they were in full stride but before shit really started to go downhill with all the politics nonsense. Will be hard for another comedy podcast to ever reach that level I think.

Thread's still up? Nice one, keeping it alive.

Conan the Barbarian
This Is Spinal Tap
Hot Fuzz

A lot of TV shows have cool commentaries as well. Red Dwarf, The IT Crowd and a few episodes of Peep Show have good commentaries.

All of the above are worth getting on DVD for the commentary and extras, at least secondhand. If you go to Amazon you can get secondhand DVDs for dirt cheap now (sometimes just a penny (plus p&p). Just make sure you get "Very Good" or "As New" condition or it might skip or freeze.

And also, for a kind of cross between podcast and movie commentary, take a look at the Nerdist podcast. The main host Chris Hardwick is pretty annoying and and a real brown nose, and every question is tame as fuck. But the quality of guests they manage to get is astounding (like Michael Parkinson tier), and they usually just shut up and let them talk for an hour. Don't expect any Earth-shattering revelations, but still really fascinating, especially Arnie and Tom Cruise.

Nerdist podcasts guests to check out:
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Tom Cruise
Tom Hanks
Quentin Tarantino
Mike Judge
Bill Gates
Brian Cox and Eric Idle
William Shatner
Gary Oldman
JGL
Brian Cranston
Kevin Bacon

There are so many others, just have a browse.

I wouldn't be surprised, the last couple of episodes were a fucking chore to listen to. Maddox got really obnoxious with his "hurr durr political bullshit I know nothing about but rant about anyway" problems.

I've never really been that big into podcasts, I've enjoyed some of the Ricky Gervais ones with Karl Pilkington in them, but I actually looked forward to The Biggest Problem in the Universe every week, but it seems to have just split into 2 not-as-good podcasts which just sucks.

Charlie from the Charlie and Will podcast. Anyone had a listen yet? We're pretty much still in pre-game with the commentaries until we get proper mics.
