Why was this movie so quickly forgotten?
The shots, the acting, the music, the time and place, the mood, the editing, basically everything came together perfectly.

If you don't sing along during that scene you're just not doing it right.

Dano at his best to be honest
One of my all time favorite comedies.

so catchy
Nobody cares about muh slavery anymore
Oscar bait about a fictional chatacter
All movies are forgotten quickly nowadays, unless if it's a comedy or a meme.

>watching this movie at the local theater
>run nigger run starts playing
>start laughing like a fucking retard
>i'm not even racist, i just found it extremely funny
>everyone looks at me
>fuck
>leave theater immediately
It was just Oscar bait. Appeals to the critics, nobody else has any reason to see it. It's not a movie you would watch with friends or family for movie night or rewatch at all so everyone saw it once and forgot about it.

Probably for the same reason that nobody cares about Crash anymore.

because it's a stone-cold bummer
Unremarkable plot
Poor pacing amd semse of time (felt like 12 weeks a slave)
No real acting set peices
Far from the definitive slave epic it was painted as
P much only brainwashed liberals thought it was goat. Dobt get me wrong its a solid 7.5/10 flick but it ain't no slavekino
When classik PD steals the show with a song prominently featuring the N word you know you F'd up
Like Deep Impact vs. Armageddon, it was overshadowed by a more engaging and historically accurate film released shortly before it.
Race pandering crap
>muh evil white people
>muh heroic black man
>muh hollywood narrative
>muh never forget slavery ever white man
