I would love to see what refn could make of the story. There is a whole lot of inner monologue, and he has a lot of experience with protagonists with limited speech.

Just saw this movie recently after reading the novel a few years ago. What the fuck.

There's definitely too much content in the book for a two and a half hour movie, so a TV adaption seems like a wiser choice. >>70840421

Not to derail the thread or anything, but since we are on the subject of a book being adapted to film, what othet books or series do you think should / could be made into tv series.
I know some people have mentioned The Wheel of Time, but i think thats too long to get anything well made out of.
My first choics would be pic related, vlad taltos series. Has anyone heard of it? I think its written in a way that each book can be its own contained story (they were written so that they can be read in any order) and short enough that it could fit into a film without cutting anything. Just wish it was more popular so it could gain traction.
I mean who wouldn't want to see a story about a mobster-like assassin with a wise-ass mini dragon pet?
