let's say the lannisters brought trebuchets (which are very expensive, and very heavy. not to mention hard to conceal) and somehow, manage to get them within firing range whithout the defender doing anything about it.
Now lets say they are able to somehow destroy the rectratable bridge (no idea how. can't reach it with a ram, and a trebuchet would be either to inacurate, to time and resource consuming and somewhat dangerous)
now lets say they somehow make a bridge (while under fire from the archers, the oil poats, etc..) and are able to somehow build it over the HUGE FUCKING MOAT
even then. how are they gonna get past the fucking choke point which is the fucking entrance, with archers raining down arrows and all other type of ill shit.
there's a reason castles were popular. they were very good at keeping large amounts of people out, while only needing small amounts of people to defend it.
there's a french lady (can't recall her name) whom, with only 8 men in her castle (the number rose, they were able to sneak reenforcements in) defended a castle against 2000 invading men. Castles are remarkably hard to conquer. that's why most invaders would rather wait out the sieges. (since they can be supplied from the outside)

Episode 8 was legitimately bad. I forgot that an episode was even on last night because of how poor the season was. I just finished watching it like 15 minutes ago and am appalled by how bad it was. Mereen was horrible. Tyrion and Missandei and Grey Worm was cringy, I honestly skipped it. Dany flying in out of nowhere was lazy and predictable as fuck. The harpies were no where near the pyramid. How would they have gotten on top so fast? It was obviously going to be Dany. Arya's scene was so bad. No way was she going to die That chase scene was so poorly done. When Arya is bleeding and lying on the floor Waif just stands there looking at here. So fucking poor; the scene was filled with tropes. They also ruined Jaime's character even further. That exchange between Jaime and the soldier just reeked of budget cuts and disinterest. "Why waste time showing us at least capture Blackfish when we can squeeze in Dany?" Grrm at least took risks. The pacing is horrible for everything and the show is clearly just fan service shit now. There is nothing to adapt so might as well please the swathes of people who just watch to say "Yas Khaleesi" on twitter. Only interesting thing was Sandor. Time to go find the leaks and spare myself from watching the last two episodes; I know they won't be worth it.
