Anon, you are ruining the film for yourself.
This film in particular is meant to make you feel constricted and trapped and if you take a break to remove yourself from. That headspace, it makes the film less effective.
Now again, if you are not compelled by what is going on in the movie you should just stop watching it and try again at a later time because you aren't going to be getting anything out of it if you're simply watching it to say you watched it.
That's the classic mistake people make when watching art house. They assume that sitting there while the movie is playing is enough. Well, it isn't, you need to be engaged with the film and sometimes you can't force it. If you're having trouble paying attention, try another movie and just come back later.
