There are people who actually believe Fury Road was better than any of the original 3 Mad Max films

this is how I filter for plebs
>>
>>70717753
Agreed
>>
name 1 reason why it's not
>>
>>70717753
You mean this is how you filter plebs?
>>
Never saw the original movies until I saw Fury Road

2 > 1 > 3 > 4

Tom Hardy's just kind of a shitty actor but Gibson has amazing charisma.
>>
The Road Warrior = Fury Road > Mad Max > Beyond Thunderdome
>>
>>70717753
Fury Road is mediocre, but then so is the original Mad Max IMO. Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome are the only good ones
>>
Starting with critics and the Academy?
>>
>>70717789
>main character barely talks
>story is "Hey fuck this place let's get out of here at last. Oh SHIT it's even worse here... ok let's go back"

the only it's got is good visuals and cool car scenes. Mainstream public loved it since action movies are garbage nowadays and this one was above-average
>>
>>70717994
Kek
>>
>>70717926
Maybe add a few more > between 1 and thunderdome, and I agree wholeheartedly.
>>
>>70717994

>"Hey fuck this place let's get out of here at last. Oh SHIT it's even worse here... ok let's go back"

This is the dumbest criticism, and I hear it so often, pretty much word for word. Did RLM say this or something? Which half-ass online critic are you parroting?
>>
>>70717994
christ dude...
>>
>>70717753
Marketing.
There were obvious marketeers few days before the movie got released and a week after.
Once they were gone people started to come out and say that its was really really bad.
I share the same opinion with the rest of the anons,it was awful.
>>
>>70717994
>main character barely talks
how the fuck does that make it bad
ever heard of acting and other audiovisual ways of expressing emotion and intention? fucking hell
>>
>>70718263
I mean the second act was total shite but the thunderdome fight, memorable quotes & memorable performances and the end chase make up for it, atleast for me.
>>
>>70718327
>This is the dumbest criticism

nah, "main character barely talks" is

It's like a kids movie for very large parts. Rate it along with shit like Gor.
>>
>>70718510

>Thunderdome above Fury Road

The kids are a terrible idea. The movie falls off a cliff after the first half, you can totally tell that Miller was barely involved in the story.
>>
>>70718510
Maybe you didn't understand, but he wasn't trying to list them in order of release :^)
>>
Mad Max>=Fury Road>Road Warrior>Beyond Thunderdome

I like the four a lot though, even BT
>>
>>70718429
Bullshit,search the archives.
Despite Americas acting like it was your first time you've seen slavery/harem movie, you also were constantly persistent on how the script was good and the scenes great when the most important scene on the train was made on a green screen visible from a mile away and the music was fucking bullshit.
There was 10 seconds in total of "metal" music.
Most of the characters served no purpose.
Please fuck off you miserable piece of shit i have no intention to argue over the same thing 100 times.Search the fucking archives.

Mad Max - Fury Road:
>terrible cinematography
>no character development
>"main character" says literally 3 lines
>the only interesting character gets killed
>unnecessary abortion scene
>filters - the movie
>utterly unbelievable post-apocalypse, especially compared to the previous installments

Mad Max "fans" also can't take any criticism of their shit films without immediately shouting out "SEXIST MISOGYNY VIRGINS SJW /pol/!"

It's one of the ugliest and most retarded films in recent History. And those garish, cartoonish, orange and blue colours produced in computers should be illegal. Really, why do people love to be submitted to this kind of empty horrifying visual and aural aggression? A fascistic anti-human audiovisual experiment. Simply put cirque du soleil for bros.
>>
>>70718549
thunderdome is shit but fury road is pure shit
>>
>>70718374
it makes it bad because that implies no character development

You watch Fury Road and don't "care" at all about the characters. You just wanna see shit blow up.

If this movie featured Mad Max 1 tier special effects anf budget, you would most likely feel like it's a bad movie
>>
>>70718641
>No, you check the archives you lying sack of shit. People liked it once it came out. You're just a fuck face.
classic example of an SJW shill right here
>>
>>70718703
have you ever watched a silent film? I guess they have zero character development as well then
>>
>>70718650

Funny enough part of why that looks so damn strange is that it's all practical effects, the truck smashing into the crashed rig happened, the junk flying off happened, the guitar was set on some bungee chords and dropped towards a camera and comped in later, as was the wheel which was just filed on a turntable. Probably would have looked a lot more "epic" if it had been CGI.
>>
>>70717753
2>4>1st Half of 3>1>2nd Half of 3
>>
>>70718510
What the hell are you talking about? The first has some of the worst pacing in a movie and Thunderdome felt like a PG13 remake of the Road Warrior
>>
>>70717753
This is how i filter /tv/ plebs.

Different Genres entirely.

Fury Road is like Escape from LA, and Road Warrior is more like Postman or Water World.
>>
>>70718752
It was filmed with dual cameras so they could do their 3d gimmick
It looks shit because of that, not the practical effects.
The Hobbit movies were the same way.

What a profoundly stupid thing to say. Do you even actually know what cinematography is?

>no character development
>"main character" says literally 3 lines
Max wants nothing to do with this shit and then decides to help, which is the same amount of development he had in Road Warrior. And he's always been a man of few words.

>utterly unbelievable post-apocalypse, especially compared to the previous installments
If you think ANY Mad Max film is remotely believable, you are a literal retard. The first one isn't even post-apocalyptic really, anyway. There are just not enough police and everyone's a criminal, which is basically what Australia is actually like. There is constant voice over during Road Warrior that tells the story of the movie like it's a campfire legend. Thunderdome is about as believable as Star Wars. These movies were NEVER meant to be remotely realistic.

>cannot hear a word Immortan is saying
I had no issue understanding him. Clean your ears.

>Valhalla is spelled with a W in the movie
What kind of criticism is that? What the hell are you even talking about?

>pointless sandstorm that looked terrible
It directly affected the plot and looked amazing.

>obvious scenes that were meant to "pop out" for 3D viewers
Stop it

>Mad Max "fans" also can't take any criticism of their shit films without immediately shouting out "SEXIST MISOGYNY VIRGINS SJW /pol/!"

These are shitty reasons to dislike a movie, it's basically you shilling

>the only interesting character gets killed

Furiosa survived.

The bad thing about the movie was the shit story, the plot is reallly uninteresting, it's just a good action flick. It's not as bad as some /pol/tards consider and not as good as some critics and SJW consider.

Is there a reason you keep beating around the bush? You do know you're Anonymous right?

And to answer your question, yes, this is what I truly believe. You can mock me as much as you want, but I won't stop my battle for authentic /tv/. I understand that, more often than not, I am throwing pearls before swine. But if I have set even just one person walking in the right direction, then I have done my duty.

Cinema is in a dire state, but someday authenticity will reign supreme. And on that day, I can rest and say: ''I put it all on the line. I did my part. And now we have won.''
>>
>>70720069

You're literally such a sheep that anything that is "mainstream" is automatically bad and anything indie is automatically good to you. Even if it's a pedestrian character-driven film about a day in the life of transgender prostitutes. No, you can't just say it was a good movie an you liked it. It was HIGH ART. And anyone who doesn't share the EXACT opinions you have is just a retard who watches Transformers movies. You have a deeply pathetic and childish way of viewing the world. I'll take the idiots who like brainless action movies over someone like you who is every bit as stupid as those guys (if not stupider) but is ALSO completely pretentious and full of himself.

In the beginning of the film Max has gone feral and avoids other people. Then he's forced to run with the breeders but doesn't trust them.

Gradually Max starts to cooperate with the women. By the time they reach the grannies he's started caring about them because we see him run after the breeders and convince them not to die in the desert.

Then Max helps them conquer the citadel and leaves, not so feral any more.

>>70720738

You do realize you spend more time thinking about feminism than feminists do, right?

I was enjoying the movie while you were fuming about all this shit.
>>
>>70720775
And this is off the top of my head. Thinking back, there are plenty of things I forgot to mention like the brides arguing about moving on after the pregnant one, Splendid, fell from the truck and died. The dark haired bride (hispanic or muslim) wants to go back to the patriarchy but the white ones explain to her that they must be strong and go on without men.

It's a modern action movie with plenty of practical effects, but it's not a Mad Max movie since he's just a side character. It's a feminism action movie with the Mad Max name to get more people in seats, specifically men who need to be taught the glory of feminism and self-sacrifice to push feminist goals. In the beginning of the movie, Max was used as an unwilling blood bag for Nux. Towards the end, he willingly becomes a blood bag for Furiosa to keep her alive.

Like it all you want, just be aware of what you're seeing, this is cold war era style propaganda and you're being indoctrinated for uplikes on facebook.

This encapsulates the reaction to Fury Road in a nutshell.

Most people just enjoyed the movie for what it was. An exceptionally well-crafted action movie. Meanwhile, basement-dwellers once again become frothy with outrage over some kind of perceived discrimination against the poor disenfranchised white upper-class males and decide to use the abundance of time they have on their hands to complain about it. A lot.

That's basically how /tv/ receive every big movie these days. They all start out good for everyone then they all move on after a few weeks because there's nothing else to add besides ''I liked it''. So the only people remaining are a vocal minority of contrarians that wants to stir up some shit (accompanied with a smaller minority of peoples that genuinely didn't liked the movie).

You can also turn this the other way around to a smaller degree. For example, the newest Fantastic Four movie where everyone started out by making fun of the movie. Then every now and then, there's some retard that starts a thread pretending it was kino all along.

I agree with most of this, but
>obvious scenes that were meant to "pop out" for 3D viewers
This is genuinely annoying in a film because it removes you form it too much. They sacrifice the viewer's submersion to make more money at 3D cinemas and that's inherently wrong. 3D is a novelty, nothing more.

My main gripe with the film is that they didn't just bring Mel back. It would have worked perfectly well -if not better- with a pepper-haired Mel Gibson reprising his original role. Also they did fuck with the character a bit -flashbacks, etc- which was totally unnecessary. I get it, but it was taken a little too far, IMO. The original Max wasn't schizophrenic, ffs.
>>
>>70722540
I hesitated to take it as an example but I believe there is people that genuinely find this movie good. They are as delusional as the Star Wars fans that were pretending Phantom Menace was as good as the first three movies. But I think some of them really believes it when they make these ''bvs kino'' shit and they do it simply because they feel threatened in front of Marvel's success. They are fanboy that can't get over their favourite characters ''loosing'' (companywar is fucking stupid, let's just say that) to guys like Ant-Man or Guardians of Galaxy.
