Why do people hate this movie again? It's great fun, and has the best on-screen interpretation of Dracula yet. It's a solid 8/10 action-adventure horror film.

They told an interesting story while also building a viable world. Shame there wasn't a sequel.

Naw this movie is below average. It looked dated when it came out, the CG is embarrassing, the story is basic and built by committee, costume design is terrible 2000's crap.
Blade II, by comparison, which came out a couple years before was much better even though it had some of the same problems it was still charming and fun.

no it wasn't, you just remember it being that way from your adolescence. Blade II has critical acclaim as well so I'm not just backing it up with my own personal experience.
I saw it when i was 11 and loved every second of it. I haven't seen it since and don't want to because I don't ant to tarnish the great memories I have of it.
They're rebooting this as part of that "monsters cinematic universe"
