It was definitely corny, but it felt like it knew it was. Similar but different to the first two resident evil films. It has a serious story to tell, but it knows it's a video game flick.
I'm not a huge cinephile or informed on technicalities so I can't say shit about the technicals, but it seemed more well made than the usual churned out horseshit summer movies turn out to be. For fans it's a solid 8/10 for normies it's a toss up. My normie as fuck wife enjoyed it, so take that for what it's worth (not much I know).
It's no surprise /v/ and most of 4chan hate it, but I enjoyed the experience.

For unrealistic fans, I'm sure it's upsetting. But I've no illusions that anything more faithful would ever be made. I have loved warcraft since I played the first in 7th grade, and for me it was nice to see a live action Lothar split an orc from stem to stern, and to see the comraderie between the King and Anduin. The little emphases like Karazhan exploding magic turning the surrounding area into Deadwind Pass were neat. The little musical motif's pulled from the first game and implanted into some of the bigger pieces were also a nice touch. The movie was made with love, even if it was far from perfect. If a warcraft fan wasn't able to get enjoyment from this film I question either the authenticity of their love or the realism of their standards. But that's only my lay and horribly uninformed opinion.

Top tier on-screen performances, best CGI in the industry, a story that has more to say than "hurr here's Tolkien's world u like that right???", and Djawadi's score that makes any piece by Rosenman sound like a Brittney Spears pop-song. Not to mention the concise and artful runtime of 123 minutes, which is much more enjoyable than a 3-hour snooze fest.
It doesn't take a patrician eye to realize the greatness of this movie. While every sperg on /tv/ and /v/ are picking up the pieces of their shattered film paradigm, I'll be at the cinema enjoying delicious buttered popcorn for my third viewing of Warcraft. Stay mad faggots.

anyone saying 7/10 is desperate for this movie to not be awful. i'd generously give it a 6.5/10 it wasn't boring, but it wasn't engaging, the acting was so flat, and it was way too short. it felt too much like a game of thrones episode where it's jumping between storylines but instead of it being different characters it was the same characters hopping through different areas for fan service, I would've liked to see more of the world, and more of the inhabitants of the world, i would've liked better acting, the script wasnt even that bad but the delivery was awful. it should've been a 3 and a half hour movie to get across what they seemed to be trying to get across.
It was better than the last two hobbit films, but it wasn't better than the first hobbit film, which was also fairly mediocre.
