I'm looking for an episode of a detective show, probably British and from the 90s. I was certain it was Jonathan Creek, but I just re-watched every episode and it wasn't
Anyway the only thing I can remember is an old man standing at a window making a scary face, and it turns out that he's actually been stabbed in the back and is dead

I thought it was Morse or Frost, and the only thing I remember is someone had rigged their attic so little needles come out the floor and electrocute someone who stands on it. Anyone know it?
