The DVD Extended Edition of The Lord of the Rings set felt a hell of a lot more special than the Blu-Ray versions.
The way they weren't encased in cheap plastic, had the heft of the books along with proper sleeves for the documents and artwork on each foldout was just lovely.

They were seriously banking on interest for another movie and seemed to be setting up Senister Six, another Spiderman movie with an ensemble of villians, but fucked up so monumentally by making a cluster fuck movie that they didnt bother with another to make use of the assets they set up.
The lesson here is to make a concise and crafted movie that stands on its own legs, and not spend your whole time setting up other possible future movies, because it might not get made and youve just made a clusterfuck. Everyone is trying to pull a Marvel and its fucking pathetic. Make a good movie and go from there, dont start a cinematic universe until youve made a few movies at least.

I got this. The replica low-ball tumblers are great and the coasters are okay.
I call bullshit on that book they actually put the discs in though. You have to touch both sides of the disc to get the in and out and it's tight so you really gotta push/pull. I keep the discs in a separate thing.

It's actually wood but it's not as high quality as it looks. There's a basic wood box and they printed something out and wrapped it around it instead of writing or carving into the wood. The art book is great, the way that the discs are on blood slides are great, and there's extra blood slides in there with quotes from the show on them to fill the box up the rest of the way and not have it be half empty.

I have a ddiferent case for my Battlestar Galatcoa DVDs, but I still use that one for my Akira DVD. It's better than the cheap crap it came in, and pretty well fits the futuristic, sci-fi tone, so I'm pretty happy with it, overall.
Cool gimmick. If I wasn't already voting for Galactica, which I was, then that wondeful little display would have certainly helped. They put wayyy more effort and love into their presentation than most of the other shows vying for the slot.
