>>70597540
>no Dune and A Straight Story
>Eraserhead, The Elephant Man and Wild at Heart that low completely out of personal shitty taste
Good fucking way to start a thread, pleb
>>70597578
wild at heart is shit
SHIT
>>70597540
You are one of those assholes who likes the worst thing by an artist, aren't you? You pick a band and latch on to their worst album. You are that guy. Right?
>>70597633
havent seen Dune and Straight Story.
>Eraserhead, The Elephant Man and Wild at Heart
I meant to put Eraserhead above FWWM and just below Inland Empire, didnt notice for some reason.
also Elephant Man and Wild at Heart arent bad movies, theyre just not as good.
>>70597729
>Twin Peaks, Inland Empire, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive
>his worst
penis
>>70597540
>inland empire
>good
pick one
>>70597705
more like badlands in the middle and all the rest under the line
>>70597540
Do people actually like Inland Empire? I mean I respect the concept and the balls it took but it's just a bore and it lacks any good cinematography that would give it merit
>>70598329
>War of the worlds above spv
Kys you contrarian fag
>>70598346
Dreadful taste.
>>70598604
Its quite accurate actually.
>>70598346
worst ive seen so far.
>>70598728
seems legit
Lincoln is oscar bait
>>70598329
>Last Crusade that low
>AI and War of the Worlds that high
>>70598329
>AI higher than Empire of the Sun
>ET same level as Empire of the Sun
why even live with such a shitty taste?
>>70598707
>Minority Report lower than A.I.
>Empire of the Sun not even on the chart
Yeah no.
>>70599442
Minority Report is a generic sci fi action movie.
Empire of Sun I left out because I tried to avoid Oscar Bait.
>>70598582
I didn't care for SPR outside a few scenes to be honest.
>>70598767
I found Last Crusade slower than the others, it's alright though. AI is his most interesting film to me. War of the Worlds, his most entertaining.
>>70598848
How can you not like ET, it's a classic.
>>70599665
>Man I fucking hate ET. Most overrated movie ever
>>70599553
>leaves out Empire
>keeps all the other Oscar bait
t.
And Minority Reports themes and subject matter are hardly generic, lad. Although I'll concede they might be a little lofty for the average Spielberg fan.
>>70599768
Yeah wasnt sure about some of the movies, some felt unique despite being oscar bait.
I'm not a spielberg fan, hes had his time, now he is just creating nothing but bait.
Minority report was a generic sci fi movie disguised behind pretentious ideas. The story was fucking predictable.
>>70599968
What was pretentious about it? I found that the central theme of predestination to be very solid framework for the rest of the plot. The entire film is peppered with smart little ideas and setpieces that played with the concept.
Someone make one for Nolan
Shitstorm ensued
>>70601199
this
>>70598587
>Fear and Desire
fucking lol
When I get to my computer later I'll make a non-meme Kubrick chart.
>>70601199
>>70601377
Actually making a not meme one famiglia. Can't not honor those gets
>>70604101
Prestige should be way higher.
Other than that not too bad.
>>70597705
how to spot a pleb
>>70604101
Pretty good
>>70605268
agreed. Also Inception is overrated
>>70598346
Jurassic Park is a good film meme
how to intrepret these
what means time vs quality in this contextual?
>>70605714
everything is a meme meme
>>70604101
The Following the best of the films. Everyone who think opposite is stupid fuck.
>>70598587
Very poor post
>>70605748
Time = Order the films were released
Quality = How good the film is
>>70605748
Go back to school, Juan.
>>70605757
Ah yes, the typical fucking loser who thinks his taste is so superior because he likes the most obscure film from a famous director.
I bet you think "My Best Friend's Birthday" is Tarantino's masterpiece too.
>>70606225
Four rooms or Jackie brown is his best
>>70606225
Almost all of Tarantino's films are shit. And you definitely wrong about me. I watched Following first time about 2001-2002, I don't remember exactly when it was, but I defenetly remeber that it was amazing film (I don't even knew who's director of it) with one of the best character of all time.
name the director
>>70608810
Godard.

my sides
Most directors tend to get better by the age, some have shining works in their earlier filmography but overall quality keeps improving.
It's just that plebs watch 1 film and rate rest shit because they think director should pander to them and rate what it isn't or rate what it should be instead of critiquing what is
>>70608810
Oliver Stone
>>70609434
>generalizing this much
>>70609279
Paul Thomas Anderson
Tarkovsky
>>70609356
Days of Heaven is better than everything but tree of life
>>70609379
Passion is better than apocalypto
>>70609571
Bingo
Are we judging the movie as a whole or strictly the directing?
>>70609571
More or less
>>70609628
Snyder
>>70609617
well op said rank their filmography so i assume the film as a whole
I haven't even heard of some of this shit I've seen on IMDB.
But I unironically think Apocalypse Now is the best movie ever made.
>>70609628

You have to go back
Has there ever been a more consistent director in history?
>>70610238
Hasn't been a more mediocre director either
Reservoir dogs should prob be higher for me, but im too lazy to edit it at this point.
>>70610238
Kingsman was a drop in quality I think
>>70604101
Memento is my favorite Nolan film as well.

Neil Blomkamp
>>70610238
I enjoyed Kingsmen up until the after the church scene, then the movie just went downhill for me
>>70610338
I fucking love Kick-Ass, can't help myself. Second one should have been directed by him too.
Layer Cake is great, but I enjoyed his other movies a bit more.

>>70610467
Lifetime aquatic that low? Dear lord you are fishing for replies.
>>70610787
There are two kinds of people: those who think life aquatic is his best and those who think it's his worst
>>70610870
i think it is in between his best and his worst
does that make me a robot?

How can you fuckers unironically love Temple of Doom but hate Crystal Skull?

>>70610758
Haven't seen Hail Caesar! yet.
>>70611086
Massive pleb
>>70610562
>>70611039
I actually only watched the movies months before Crystal Skull had come out, and yes, Last Crusade is probably my fav, but Raiders is a close second.
The stupid slapstick and annoying characters from Temple are the most frustrating aspects of any movie I've ever seen, and it's probably more frustrating than Skull as a whole.
Don't get me wrong, I still really like all the movies. Indy is probably my favorite franchise of all time.
No nostalgia involved whatsoever.
>>70611324
so what makes you so sure that its nostalgia for them? i didnt watch any of them till 2007 and that was way past that kid threshhold
There is a lot of trolling going on here.
>>70611433
Welcome to 4chan!
>>70610957
Haven't seen all of his films but seven is at least better than fight club
>>70611384

i was with you until F for Fake
>>70612183
The little squiggle on the "quality" axis means everything is great, but relative to the others it didn't quite measure up to his last 4. Still very much enjoyed it, though.
>>70611930
>those PTA fans who didn't see through Magnolia pretension
calls your credibility into question unfortunately.
>>70610332
>KB Vol 2 over Vol 1
>Django over Inglorious Basters
Honestly though, the fact that Tarantino rankings can vary so wildly makes his consistency pretty evident; even if almost everyone thinks PF is his best, anything goes for ranking his other movies.
>>70612246
Sometimes you just want a fairy tale where anything can happen (but most of the time it doesn't).
>>70612254
django is best
>>70612205
it was his only really original film since kane
>>70612324
