Money, ego, lack of consistent serious leading roles for someone of his age.
>>
Money. When you've been in a billion movies and you've already had your hay day its alright to not give a fuck once you're an old aged actor.

Honestly, De Niro has had a fuck ton of lead roles in great films. He's had a good run.

His previous wife was also black. Bobby likes the dark meat.

>>70565432
honestly, no one's debating that, but two decades of multiple shit films a year start to tarnish a legacy

By not giving a fuck.

De Niro has acted in some of the most highly regarded films of all time. He doesn't need to pay attention to what he does anymore, as long as it pays.

This is the same reason why Al Pacino was in Jack & Jill
>>
Maybe he's just one of those guys who can't not be working because of ego and there just aren't enough good roles for a person of his age.
>>
He's not bright and isnt represented by a savvy agent. Other's in the industry have said the same about his intelligence. He's likely just taking whatever comes his way without caring about the quality. His agent stays getting paid.

>This is the same reason why Al Pacino was in Jack & Jill

No, it's not:

In mid-2010, Pacino learned that his business manager, Kenneth I. Starr, had been arrested for embezzling his clients’ money in a Ponzi scheme. (Starr is currently serving seven and a half years in prison.) There had been warnings. Early on, Mike Nichols, who had taken his money out of Starr’s company, had raised suspicions. “I’ll get to it,” Pacino told Nichols. “Then I never got to it,” he said. “Millions of dollars were gone,” Sola said. “Gone.”

Pacino took the loss in stride. “I thought, Hey, this is the world. It’s real,” he said. “Not one day I saw him down or depressed,” Sola said. “He was, like, ‘O.K., now what do we do? Roll up our sleeves and go to work.’ ”

Pacino’s agent, John Burnham, told me, “In his halcyon days he made around fourteen million a picture, but the industry’s changed. Nowadays, he gets five million. With a gun—seven million.” It has taken Pacino four years to work himself back to a position where, he says, “compared to a normal person, I have a significant amount.” He sold a Snedens Landing property, did commercials, took out a loan, and signed on for Adam Sandler’s dismal but profitable “Jack and Jill” (2011)—a “kids’ movie,” according to Pacino, in which he sent up both his legend and his financial predicament. In the film’s best moment, a hip-hop ad for Dunkin’ Donuts, Pacino can be seen dancing and pitching the “Dunkaccino”: “You want creamy goodness / I’m your friend / Say hello to my chocolate blend.”

But his first wife was actually cute. The current one is really ugly.
>>70565472
I read that Pacino lost a lot of money, as his accountant or something was involved in an illegal scheme, and had to star in shitty flicks to regain it.

Have you ever considered that maybe he just enjoys acting in shitty films that don't require a lot of effort in his old age? It's like playing football in college, then occasionally playing two hand touch with your friends when your 40. It's just fun, similar to what you used to love, and low effort. And in this case, he gets paid for it.

I have not, no, as I don't think that makes any amount of sense. It's still work. What's fun about it?

You just don't hear about it in the media too often because it goes against the narrative.

Plus, they have lousy aim, hence the drive by.

Awe, anon, if i'm supposed to be a lazy NEET and you're here too, what does that make you?

Enjoying one's field of work means doing one's best, with the best coworkers, producing the best product. He still has to live away from home, rehearse, wake up for random call times, and everything filmmaking involves. They're not funny films, they're not dramatic films, they're abysmal. If you're putting in the same amount of work but producing garbage I just don't see how it's "fun."
>>
>>70566300
Typical NEET putdown. The movie and poster are fine. Are you a graphic artist? Can you make something as good? Yeah, i'll wait.

The poster is fine? What about it is fine? Is it the horrible photoshopped heads, the fact the camera is pointing below Sam Rockwell's chest, no-one looking at the digital camera taking the photo, the bland background, the boring font, Rockwell's weird neck/jaw?..

nothing will ever tarnish prime De Niro. He is basically unassailable. Shit like Dirty Grandpa is flicky but he'd have to truly be slumming, like Eric Roberts tier, to lose any modicum of the goodwill he's accumulated
