Overall, this episode was pretty stellar but I think the change of pace withArya's stabbing scenekind of fucked up the flow. I could have done with lengthier Riverlands scenes, and then leave Arya until next episode and show more than justthe stabbing.

D&D think they're being cynical by having people not keep faith but they're just showing their contempt for the setting that GRRM created. The Northern houses are extremely loyal. In the books the Boltons only really had support from the Karstarks who had a legitimate and very recent grudge against Robb Stark, plus they were being led by a craven old man. All the other houses they gathered were only there for lack of any other choice: it was obey or be crushed. Their armies were scattered after the Red Wedding and most of their male family members killed or taken hostage.
We learned from Davos that the Manderly's who had apparently fallen in line with the Lannister-Bolton alliance, were in reality preparing for war and at the first opportunity were going to tear the Boltons down because they are diehard Stark loyalists.
