It's a good movie. Some didn't know what they were getting into, expecting some slick assassin movie, not a really sad tale of a man coming to terms with his sins, and hence didn't like it. But that may be the marketing's fault (look at the poster even).
It's just like Dead Presidents, people were expecting a heist movie. But it's actually a really good drama about someone who fucked up royally by turning to attempting a heist.
