Saw the film yesterday in the UK
"flawed but great" indeed. At many times throughout the film it felt like it could be a masterpiece, but needed a bit more work on the script and editing. Not to say it was bad, not even close to it. For every bad thing there was, there would be three great things alongside it. Its fast paced and missed a few location and character moments, but its got enough to care and stay interested.

I've seen both movies,X-men Apocalypse maybe deserved a 60% at best.It was a fun popcorn flick and stupid in every way and a bit incomprehensible(I hate the whole concept of the Pheonix Force in general and the movie gave it to Jean as she's literally starting out) but at no point in the movie did I go,"Wow,this is fucking boring and lazy as shit".(the quicksilver scenes were fucking goofy but they were fun)
Batman vs Superman on the other hand I went in trying to like the movie and just couldn't,it's mind numbingly bad.A combination of executive meddling and a hack director trying to cram so much shit in one movie it's pathetic.Basically "hey,let's cram some of the best comic book characters and stories in one movie,surely that will result in a high quality film".
You see, film critics fucking hate video games because they're usually old shitters or limp-dicked faggots who hate gaming and hate that the video game industry has dominated the film industry for years and is starting to offer way more interesting and even better-written experiences than the majority of films available. They also hate any fantasy/action/sci-fi films that aren't the best of the best. So if you take a game and turn it into an average blockbuster they tear it apart on principle alone, even if it's about average, because it's the only chance to "get back" at games for ass-fucking their precious film industry.

Clearly you've never done any research into the Warcraft universe, it's very high fantasy by your definition.
If you consider LotR to be high fantasy because of the for those reasons, Warcraft literally only lacks languages. It has a large amount of backstory compared to almost any other franchise, and has a cosmology that was built up until the new chronicles book came out, where they revealed how the cosmology and metaphysics of the universe work.
