Underappreciated masterpieces

Should have ended with the Blue Fairy.
As great as Miami Vice. The digital cinematography in a period setting puts people off and it will still be a while before people are able to appreciate it.

Easily the most underrated Bill Murray movie and one of his best
>>70243428
Would have been GOAT if Kubrick directed it.
>>70243428
It's funny that it shows a sexbot for women
>underappreciated
It could have been Kubrick's crowning achievement, but he decided to go out on a fucking Tom "Cruise along on my charisma" flick instead.
If you stop watching AI after the mother leaves the kid in the forest it's much better. It's like a fantastic sci-fi short story.
i used to love smoking a fat bowl, laying on my side and watching AI
also my favs are
the beach,
cast away
march of the penguins
and of course layer cake and things to do in denver when ur dead

no. The ending is the best part. I teared up when he spent the day with the mom
>>70243475
This. Of course Spielberg had to have the maudlin ending. I didn't like the film anyway. I know Kubrick's would have been infinitely better. In fact, Im watching Catch me if you Can right now and it's doing nothing for me. Jaws and Raiders are Spielberg's opus. Maybe Close Encounters too.

>The Beach
I will always love that film. Makes me really sad at the end when Di Caprio discovers that photo on the iMac. Back to reality.

March of the Penguins was literally the meme flick of 2005.
Great film

You cannot honestly tell me you liked Bicentennial Man. That shit is painful to watch.
>>70249820
Kubrick wrote the ending with the AI beings
>>70243640
No. Fuck no. The pacing of this movie was atrocious. The dialogue was incredibly boring. Plenty of movies have deliberate pacing, but this was just not a good movie.

>believing spielberg
god goy

'>>70250255
Hmmm. Kubrick would have dealt with it far better though, I want to believe. Spielberg had that terrible late 90s CGI and visions of the future
>>70250148
Up until the third act, this is a seriously great film.
>>70250142
You think BFG is going to be good?
>>70250222
But I did, anon. I think it's misunderstood. Really a touching film.
I've seen this one so many times. Just something about it taking place in one night in L.A. feels cool to me. The music haunts me still, especially the last scene's music where the train was riding off.
One of my favorites but I never talk to others about it that often.
>>70243475
I would agree, but that ending monologue narrating Monica dying and David finally going to sleep is still incredibly emotional and really just seals the whole movie.
Fight me. It has just the right amount of corniness but is still super sincere and surprisingly touching.
>That last race

>>70249734
What's good about this?
>>70251313
There are regular threads about it on this very board and most people think it is Mann's best film, after Heat, of course.
Lurk moar.
>>70252900
Thief is his best work.
