Jared Leto has no range. You're confused because he takes such daring and diverse roles, but if you watch his acting closely it's actually pretty sub-par.
Johnny Depp is exactly the same. Every decent role he's had as been a reprisal of Hunter S. Thompson. It's the only thing he can do convincingly. You're gonna call me a liar but go watch a film where his character isn't a Thompson rehash and play attention to his acting without the Depp-tinted glasses on.
