Everyone in involved was tired of doing the movies but were contractually obligated to do so and just jammed a bunch of crap on screen and figured "well the other two movies were popular we really don't have to try"
The movies , in of themselves, weren't bad but they always show a significant drop in quality. I think it's because they just stopped caring
