This. The whole sword and shield sthick was tacked on later (and the golden lasso thrown out) when they wanted her to be taken more seriously as a fighting character. I have mixed feelings about it. Sword fighting is cool af, but the lasso, with it's power to bind anyone and make them tell the truth was a unique feature which i think stood out. People probably associate it with a 'whip' now and all that 'bondage' stuff, making her seem like a sexy character, which apparently is a big no-no now. We can't have women appearing sexy anymore unless they using it to dominate a man.

If it were the MCU then I'd say yes, but since it's not I'm gonna say no. Warner Bros have dug themselves in such a deep hole that they can't get out of at this point. They were so desperate to catch up to Marvel, and didn't have the right creative minds to do it. The only DCEU film that has a real solid chance to be good is Suicide Squad. Justice League is dead on arrival, and everybody knows it. Nobody except the few weirdos that liked BvS, are looking forward to that movie. BvS was ALWAYS going to be critic proof for it's opening weekend, but Justice League won't be. I love all the characters, but general audience don't give a fuck about Flash, Cyborg or Aquaman. It was always about the Trinity, and they already blew their load on that with BvS. So the only thing that was gonna generate hype for JL is if BvS was a good movie. But it wasn't. So if JL doesn't get good reviews after embargo, I guarantee you it'll have a worse opening week than BvS.
As for Wonder Woman, the script is written by the guy who did Pan, and the leading actress doesn't have the range and experience to carry a big blockbuster movie on her own shoulders. So it's gonna be a bust for sure. There are people who saying Wonder Woman was good in BvS. That's because she barely had anything to do, and people were just excited to finally see her in action. But her actual film will expose Gal as being a total miscast. Once she has 60 minutes of screentime that demands actual acting, range and emotion, she's gonna get exposed big time. It's fucking bizarre that for so many years WB was afraid to do a WW, and when they finally do it, they let a model and not an actual actress be cast. It really makes me wonder wtf kind of management is going on over at that studio.
Anyways as much of a DC fan I am, the DCEU will crumble. It's only a matter of time. DC has been putting out mediocre/bad movies for so long now, they're starting to have a bad rep and their losing the faith of audiences.

Batman movies will always find an audience, even if it's not a huge one, and I can see Suicide Squad doing well enough to warrant more, but there's no fucking way anybody on the League besides WW is getting their own film.

Also worth noting that her limited involvement in the movie gave her a limited number of opportunities to fuck up.
I think Gadot was mis-cast horribly here and have serious doubts as to her ability to carry a solo film. This isn't helped by MoS and BvS being a series of mis-steps from WB/DC so they don't have any credit in the bank. This being said at least Snyder doesn't have much to do with it.
It might work, but I don't favour the odds.
On the other hand, WW could perform incredibly poorly at the box office without really impacting the DCU much. If it craters they'll blame it not on Gal Gadot's casting and lack of talents or the movie just being shit, but on the movie-going public being misogynistic asshats who won't give poor Wonder Woman a chance.
