So, others have already written about the idea that Bloodraven is the reason Aerys became the Mad King, so I'll focus on hints we can get from the show here. There's three scenes I'll use as support for my theory.

When Ned hears Bran in the vision, we don't cut to Bran's excited face - we cut to Bloodraven, who seems worried and even afraid. He then rushes in to stop Bran from pushing further but does not really explain why.

So why is Bloodraven so afraid by Bran trying to talk to Ned? Because he know that it works and he knows that it is dangerous. The theory is that he tried to warn Aerys of something - when and what that was we can't really say - and that was the voices he heard that drove him mad. In one of the trailers there was this scene. Why would someone show us Jaime murdering the Mad King, when we already know the story? Because it reveals this fact, that Bloodraven was the one responsible. He wants to teach Bran not to make the same mistakes, which brings us to last week's episode.

Bran doesn't listen to Bloodraven, is not careful enough and lets the Night's King place his GPS device on him. Not much later an army of wights attacks the cave and yet Bloodraven wants to show Bran one last thing. Even though Bran is not ready, Bloodraven says that it is time "for you to become me" and sends him back to the moment when Hodor becomes Hodor. He knows what is about to happen and wants Bran to witness the dangers of communicating through time first hand. Like Bloodraven learned from his interfering with Aerys, Bran learns from what he did to Hodor and thus "becomes" Bloodraven.

It has been widely postulated that Arya's tasked assassination of 'Lady Crane' will be her final and defining test with the Faceless Men, ending in her likely defecting.
I agree with this.
I think, though, that after deciding to not poison Lady Crane's rum, Arya will go to leave, realising she can never let go of her past and identity, only to be stopped by the mummer herself. An initially misleading (and no doubt deceivingly sweet) conversation will ensue, ultimately culminating in Lady Crane (shockingly) expressing her dissatisfaction with Arya's unwillingness to poison her drink. She will pull off her face, revealing the Waif.
The Waif will declare Arya has made her intentions clear, and will never be able to serve the Many Faced God. She will attack her, meaning to kill. Here their fight in the streets of Braavos begins.
I think this would be an ironic twist on 'Lady Crane' being a "good person" that Arya doesn't want to kill, seeing as she is in-truth the Waif, someone Arya hates and would likely have no qualms killing.

It is insane that GOT is as big a hit as it is. In 2009, if you told someone that an adults only fantasy series centered around dragons and inbreeding that can only afford to show a battle once a season would be THE cultural phenomenon of the English speaking world they would say you're insane. Please also think about how few shows in the history of television have actually gone 8 seasons and how incredibly slim the odds were even once they got the greenlight for season one.
I know it is really fun to backseat drive and shit on executive decisions, but these two guys have somehow convinced the world to spend HALF A BILLION DOLLARS creating a nerdy ass show that gives most of us in this sub a lot of pleasure every Sunday. They really have accomplished something amazing.
To be clear, I'm not trying to minimize GRRM's contributions at all. I actually massively prefer the books to the show. But I really like the show too and appreciate that I can enjoy it every week with a big, diverse group of friends.

With the events of last week and what looks like the imminent arrival of Coldhands, I've been reading up on the theories of who it will be.
The books and the show might choose different routes here so I wondered if there was a consensus opinion after what happened last week.
I've got preferences for the true identity of Coldhands:
>Dunk. I'd love this, I'd be mega-hyped in fact. However I don't think he's integrated sufficiently into the show text to be relevant. Definitely my preferred book Coldhands though.

Okay, so me and my friends we're having a discussion about the theiry that has been popping up on here a lot lately about how Bran will go back in his visions and try to speak to the Mad King Aerys to convince him not to do the terrible things Bran knows he will do. Thus ultimately leading to him becoming the 'Mad King'.
So me and my friends decided to build off of that and add a small twist in. For this, we must look back at this past weeks episode :(. As we know, we finallllllly figured out with a haunting reality, why Hodor only says 'Hodor' through him essentially feeling and seeing his own death unfold.
As of right now Bran must realized that something happened in the real world to cause this to Hodor, which I'm sure Meera will inform him of when he comes out of Bran Vision. Anyways, after some thought over the matter Bran will realize that he was the one that caused Hodor to become Hodor, but also that even before Bran had these powers that Hodor had always called himself Hodor. From this, Bran will deduce that he was always meant to go back in time and alter Hodor, that he is in a closed loop time paradox.
Bran will continue to have visions and see bits of the past that will show him eventually that whitewalkers are the biggest problem facing everyone, and that their demise is the ultimate end goal. He will find out more about Dany and the dragons, and even go back to witness the Field of Fire that led to the Stark King bending the knee to Aegon and his sisters. Just a glimpse of the awesome power that a dragon can unleash. Bran will also discover that fire is the best way to defeat wights, and obsedian glass is best to kill the others. He then decides that he needs to get Dany across the Narrow Sea to save the world from the Others.

I believe that Bran will realize that for Dany to come over and save the world, she first has to go over to Essos, marry Drogo, receive the dragons eggs a wedding gift, then hatch the eggs. But for all of this to happen, we have to have a reason for her to go to Essos. We will have to have a threat of her life. We will have to have Robert's Rebellion.
But what caused Robert's Rebellion? Ohh that's right, the Mad King and his mad tendencies. Realizing all of this Bran kmows what he must do. He must make the Mad King mad, by whispering to him in the hopes of triggering all the crazy stuff that leads to Robert declaring war against the Iron Throne. This leads to Bran eventually convincing the Mad King to burn his Grandfather and Uncle right before the rebellion starts, which he knows he must do in order to make Ned want to take up arms and help Robert.

So for this we go to the tourney at Harrenhal. Bran and everyone knows the story of how Rhaegar named Lyanna Stark the Queen of Love and Beauty after he was named champion of the tourney, instead of his wife (scandalous). So Bran will see the Mad King planning a tourney, but that he was going to have it at Storms End instead of Harrenhal, which will make Bran realize that he has to change his mind to have the tourney at Harrenhal so that the events that lead to Robert's Rebellion all transpire. He then convinces the Mad King that the Whents of Harrenhal aren't as loyal as they seem, and that its best to keep his friends close, and his potential enemies closer, so he decides to move the tourney to Harrenhal in order to test the loyalty of the Whents to the crown. Bran is successful in this and the tourney is hosted at Harrenhal, where Rhaegar name Lyanna the Queen of Love and Beauty, thus leading to them running away together, which leads to Robert's Rebellion, which ends the Targaryan empire of Westoros, which leads to Dany being briugh across the Narrow Sea, to marry Drogo, hatching dragons, and eventually leading her coming to fight all the whitewalkers and others!

Aside from the praise of the last episode, and of that final scene in particular, a fair amount of derision has been centred on the supposed 'time travel' elements. I, too, were a little mystified by this, but I've been thinking about it and have come to a satisfying conclusion.
We've seen time travel before. Melisandre looking into the flames. Quaithe. Maggy the Frog.
Prophecy.
You might say, 'oh, but that's just LOOKING, it's not the same!' But it really is, think of it from the other perspective - what happens in the future to allow people to see it?
Basically all Bran did was cause young Wyllis to see himself in the future. Yes, this is Bran's effect, but SOMETHING in the future must 'effect' someone in the past, in order for prophecy to happen.
So really, this 'time-travel' is nothing new. Perhaps other prophecies in the series are also triggered by someone from the future? Could that be Bran?
