This is the first episode that I remember watching live and realizing that the show had become garbage.
There were a handful of good laughs but all of Simpsons death knell signs were there and I noticed them. The "contemporary" plot line, the hack celebrity ass kissing, the lazy left field plot twists, the overly goofy "cartoony" premise that classic Simpsons fought against, etc etc.
The show was trash long before this but this was when I realized it. LOL LOOK IT'S HIT RECORDING ARTISTS NSYNC AND LOL THEY'RE TOTALLY IN ON THE JOKE LOL WHAT GOOD SPORTS

Funny, at the time I liked the episode a lot more than other ones that were telling me how shit the show was becoming.
Except for the Mad Magazine building getting destroyed and everyone that was in it is just sitting on the wreckage. That was stupid.
